About Me

My photo
My name is Natalie and I love anything to do with card/paper. I have been a papercrafter for many years now and I never get bored playing with all the wonderful products available. I've been married to my wonderful husband Nathan for 35years now and we are still very much in love with each other as the first day we met each other. We have 3 wonderful children and 5 gorgeous grandchildren so we have lots to be thankful for. Since joining Stampin' Up! in 2018 I've grown so much in confidence with myself and I even tackle technology, which for me is a huge step to have taken, but I'm getting there slowly.

Craftalong Tuesday - Gorgeous leaves

Hi everyone and welcome to the next Craftalong tuesday....... this one is a really lovely cardfold, cased from the very talented Emma Goddard from Coastal crafters, i love her work!
I've used the fabulous 'Gorgeous leaves' bundle for my card...... hope you like it, and maybe give it a go too!

The first thing that we need to do is to cut and score our card base, which measures 14.8cm x 21cm and then scored along the long side at 2.5cm, 5cm and then 13cm these are then folded and burnished so that they form a funny shaped W.
All of the layers for the card front are cut so they measure 0.3cm smaller than the one before, these are then glued flat to the sections of the card.
The front fold over panel of the card which is in cajun craze...... I love this colour it's so vibrant and rich, this piece measures 8cm x 21cm and is scored on the long side at 10.5cm. This then has a white layer measuring 0.3cm smaller, which I have stamped some of the images from the stampset corner to corner using cajun craze for the tiny leaves and then 2nd generation ink in crushed curry for the dots, glued flat to the one panel.
This piece can be glued flat to the card now or when it has been decorated, the choice is yours, but remember glue is not needed all over the reverse side as the top section isn't attached to the card, so be careful!

This is what it looks like from the side.

The sentiment panel in cajun craze measures 3.8cm x 7.5cm and this is attached to the front panel, but before I have attached a length of the gold twine wrapped around my fingers a few times to make loops, using tear n tape and then attach the whole thing using dimensionals. The sentiment is stamped in blackberry bliss, the one I've used is from the 'Best year' stampset, this is then fussy cut around and glued to the panel.
I then die cut lots of the leaves and twigs using - cajun craze, blackberry bliss, crushed curry, pumpkin pie and old olive cardstock........ I really like all of these colours together they really seem to compliment each other!
Some of the leaves had a piece cut off so that they fitted under where I wanted them to be and the twig was cut into 2 pieces and added. I then added 3 of the gilded gems to the front of my card to finish it off.

Hope you liked this weeks project and enjoy giving it a go.
Until next time
Huge Crafty Hugs
Natalie xx
