About Me

My photo
My name is Natalie and I love anything to do with card/paper. I have been a papercrafter for many years now and I never get bored playing with all the wonderful products available. I've been married to my wonderful husband Nathan for 35years now and we are still very much in love with each other as the first day we met each other. We have 3 wonderful children and 5 gorgeous grandchildren so we have lots to be thankful for. Since joining Stampin' Up! in 2018 I've grown so much in confidence with myself and I even tackle technology, which for me is a huge step to have taken, but I'm getting there slowly.

New Email Notification provider - Follow. It

 Hi everyone

Hope you are all keeping well, and enjoying your day so far. I'm busy getting all of my customer thankyou cards ready for the post today, as it is almost the end of the month!

I just wanted to let all of my subscribers to my blog know that as my Google Feedburner email notification system is coming to an end in July, I have now switched over to using the Follow.it to forward all of my email notifications to you, so please do not be alarmed if you see the Follow.it symbols instead of the Google's Feedburner.

You can also customise your subscription with Follow.it and add different notification feeds, if you so wish, for example BBC News feed!

You can see further information over on Follow.it

I am looking forward to a great new relationship with Follow.it and their extensive subscription service.

Until my next blog post, take care and keep crafting!

Craftalong Tuesday - Bamboo Beauty

Good morning everyone. and welcome to another Craftalong tuesday. this week I have something a little bit diferent for you all using the delightful stampset called 'Bamboo Beauty' and it really is a beautiful stampset. I have to be honest when I first saw this in the new catalogue I wasn't very sure about whethter I would make use out of it, but now having purchased it and used it, I think it's going to be used quite a bit!.......

You get a total of 10 stamps in this set and each one of them is absolutely unique, it comprises of 5 images and 5 sentiments, you can see what it looks like in the catalogue it's on page 49, I think it's one of those sets that probably gets missed whilst you are browsing through the pages of the catalogue, which is sad as it is really delightful........

To make this card I've used a thick Basic White card base that measures 5 3/4" x 5 3/4" and fits perfectly into a 6" x 6" envelope. Each layer then goes down by 1/4" and I've used Basic White and Mint Macaron for boh the outside and the inside of the card.
Using the Diorama dies and the 3rd largest size I die cut a b
Basic White one and then to get the slightly larger one I drew around the outer edge of the same die and fussy cut it out using my snips.
I've layed the die cut shape onto my Basic white thick layer and proceeded to stamp all of my images using Mint Macaron and Crumb Cake ink, this leaves a slight gap on the layer, which is why I've cut the slightly larger one out as it covers up the gap left and gives the images a different look, it's almost like you've stamped them twice, but we know that isn't the case!
I've then glued all of my layers and die cut/fussy cut shapes where they need to be on the card front. The sentiment I have stamped onto a strip of card which is 1" x approx 4 1/2" then I've put it through the die cutting machine using the same die as before, and voila the sentiment fits perfectly where i wanted it too!
All that remained left to do then was to tie a double bow using the Linen thread, this is attached using a bit of wet glue and than the 3 Genial gems which happen the come in Mint macaron and Pale papaya are attached to the front of the card.
I really liked how this turned out I thought it was very pleasing to the eye and I love the sentiment on the front especially as it is a Japanese proverb - genius having this in the stampset I LOVE IT!

All the products I've used for this card are at the bottom of this post just click on the items you'd like, to be taken through to my on line shop.

Hope you all enjoyed todays project as much as I enjoyed making it for you all to see. Until next time take care and keep crafting!

Grandson - X Box birthday card

Good afternoon, today I thought I would share with you all a rather special card. I don't very often share what I've made for all of my family, but I rather really liked this one, which is for our youngest grandson 'Harry' who is going to be 11 on saturday.
He like lots of other children now a days really loves his X Box so I thought what if ?

And after alot of time and effort by myself and my lovely hubby Nathan, who drew me the template for the control, which I then had to make symmetrical, cut into different layers and add all of the buttons and switches, which took me sometime I can tell you to do lol...........
All of the circles I've used are from the die set called 'shark dies' which are actually retiring 30th June so if you'd like to grab them hurry before they go forever! It's just the one die that cuts them all together, multiple times.
The dsp is also from a pack that is going to be retiring called 'Well suited'. I just thought this particular sheet leant itself to a tech card.
The control itself I cut out 3 layers for it and glued them all together, each layer was cut slightly differently than the others.
For the A B Y and X buttons I struggled at first but then realised if I drew in thick pencil the letters, onto pacific point cardstock and then coloured the rest of the circle in with the 'Basic black' stampin' write marker, rubbed the pencil marks out and as you can see I was left with the blue letters, voila it was like magic!
The long oblong button was made by drawing round 3 of the smaller circles layed together just making sure that when I cut them out the top and bottom were cut straight rather than curved.
The large black button with the X on it was easy I just needed to cut the top circle layer into a cross and then after giving it a curl I just added glue to the centre reverse side of it and attached it to the other ones. As for the large white button with the blue X on it this was just drawn on using the 'Pacific point' stampin' write marker and curved from the back to make it looked like it was a raised button from the top.
The embossed layer was too wide for the embossing folder but I liked the way it had the small plain border down the side, I thought it looked quite cool like this.
I think the rest of the bits are self explanatory, all I know is it took me a long time to make, but I thoroughly enjoyed doing it, and that's why I wanted to share it with you all.
Hope you liked it
Until next time

SUOC278 Name game - use your initial

Hello again everyone and welcome to another SUOC#278This week we have a very different challenge for you all, and I must be honest, at first I even struggled with it....... but after a ittle bit of thought this was the card I came up with!
Now as you all know my initial is 'N' and so I thought 'Natalie why not make a card to do with nature that can have your initial in the centre of it all' ........ hope you like what I came up with. It's a realatively easy card to make, you just need to make yourself a mask of the initial you would like to use and go from there!

I started off with a square card, the size is your choice, I then cut myself a layer out of Evening Evergreen cardstock that measured 1/16" smaller than my base card and glued it to the front of my cardbase. Next I cut myself another piece of cardstock this time using the basic white, and again making it 1/16" smaller than the green layer.
I used my rule to draw myself a template of my initial, onto a piece from a roll of masking paper that I've had in my stash for many years, this was an easy initial to draw as it has straight lines all the way round!
I then positioned it onto my white card layer and proceeded to stamp the leaves from the 'Plentiful plants' bundle, using Evening Evergreen ink, then I used my blending brush to blend Soft Succulents ink all over the card layer. Once all was dry I carefully peeled off the initial to reveal what it looked like, and I have to say it was a 'wow I love it' moment.
This piece is then glued flat onto the cardbase.

The initial looks so crisp and white when you lift off the mask it is such a lovely technique to use on your projects, especially if you want to give the effect of thing sitting behind other things!
All that remained for me to do then was t stamp and die cut all of the elements again from the 'Plentiful plants' bundle. The flower pot I gave a slight curve to using my bone folder and then attached it to the cardbase. The leaves were all tucked under the flowerpot and glued into place.

Love this little flowerpot all of the shading is done for you by using the stamp, very clever and cute.
I tied a double bow and glued this onto the leaves just at the top of the flowerpot.
The sentiment I used was from the 'Pansy Patch' stampset as I really like the font that is used in this set, as well as the beautiful pansies of course!
Final thing to do was to attach some of the 2021-2023 Incolor jewels onto the card front and to put an extra layer of white cardstock in the middle and the card is finished.

Hope you enjoyed todays card and find time to join in with the challenge it's great fun, and I love to see what you make from it. Please do hop over and have a look at all of the other design teams makes you'll be very wowed at what they all thought of , I know I was!

Until next time take care
