About Me

My photo
My name is Natalie and I love anything to do with card/paper. I have been a papercrafter for many years now and I never get bored playing with all the wonderful products available. I've been married to my wonderful husband Nathan for 35years now and we are still very much in love with each other as the first day we met each other. We have 3 wonderful children and 5 gorgeous grandchildren so we have lots to be thankful for. Since joining Stampin' Up! in 2018 I've grown so much in confidence with myself and I even tackle technology, which for me is a huge step to have taken, but I'm getting there slowly.

SUOC#284 - People

Hello and welcome to another SUOChallenge, I can't believe it's been 2 weeks already, the time just seems to be flying by.......
The theme for the SUOC#284 is - PEOPLE and at first when I saw this I thought arrghhhh what am I going to do, but then looking through all of my stampsets, and oh my I do have many so this was a task on it's own lol, I found the really cute Stellar birthday stampset and thought WOW these cute 'little people' are ideal, and this is what I came up with..............

I love making square cards, and thought that this one needed to be square as I had so much I wanted to put on it :).
I started with a basic white thick card base using misty moonlight for the next layer, but, before attaching it to the card front I did a few things ......
Using the whisper white ink and pad I stamped some of the small images from the stampset. Using the embossing tool on my take your pick tool I dabbed this into ink on a stamp block and then dabbed dots onto the cardstock randomnly all over, and if some of them smudged in the process I wasn't worried because these look like a galaxy in the sky!.
I then sprinkled silver embossing powder all over the cardstock as it stuck to the ink dots that were still wet, I then heat set them. Finally I sprinkled more powder over the whole piece and very gently tapped off some, I then heat set this from the back of the cardstock so the heat tool didn't blow it away (as it wasn't actually stuck to anything) this gave a very subtle sparkle, hopefully you can see it in the photo.......

This was then attached to the front of the card using the Stampin' seal+ I found this was great to use for this as the card having been heat embossed had warped slightly, but the Stampin' seal+ enabled me to stick it down nice and flat.

I then stamped all of the images using memento black ink,  coloured them all in with my stampin' blends and then fussy cut them all out with my paper snips, and those of you that know me will know that I love a bit of fussy cutting!.
The moon was punched out using a retired 2" circle punch and then using a blending brush and the misty moonlight ink I gave it a bit of shading.

The sentiment was stamped using the memento black ink and then fussy cut out.
All of the stars were die cut out from the Stitched stars dies and then using the pokey end of my take your pick tool to hold them down I used another one of my blending brushes and daffodil delight ink this time to shade them a bit.

All of the elements except for the little boy astronaut were attached using glue, not all over though just a small bit in the middle of each element this just allows them all to sit and look more 3D rather than being totally flat to the card. The boy was then attached on using dimensionals.

Hope you liked the card as much as I enjoyed making it, I had so much fun!

Please do hop over and see what all of the other design team members have made for you to see and maybe if you get time join in yourselves with the challenge, I'd love to see what you make as would everyone else.
