About Me

My photo
My name is Natalie and I love anything to do with card/paper. I have been a papercrafter for many years now and I never get bored playing with all the wonderful products available. I've been married to my wonderful husband Nathan for 35years now and we are still very much in love with each other as the first day we met each other. We have 3 wonderful children and 5 gorgeous grandchildren so we have lots to be thankful for. Since joining Stampin' Up! in 2018 I've grown so much in confidence with myself and I even tackle technology, which for me is a huge step to have taken, but I'm getting there slowly.

Fine art gallery - Pinwheel card

Well it's Craftalong Tuesday again, hope you've all had a lovely Easter and didn't eat too much chocolate mmmmmmm who can resist, my favourite is dark chocolate yummy .......              I thought today I'd share a lovely pinwheel card with you all, and get some more of our scrap pieces used, as I know we all hate to waste paper but sometimes struggle to think of ways to use it.........

I've made a square card for my base and just layered it up using different colours, which for me were Bumble bee and Blackberry bliss, I love these colours together I think they look really nice. So let's get started.........

Materials needed

Basic white thick card

1 piece 5" x 10" scored in half at 5" - card base

1 piece 3-7/8" x -7/8" - front of card topper layer

1 piece approx 2" x 6" - punching 3 x daisies out

1 piece approx 3/4" x 3" - sentiment

Bumblee Bee card

2 pieces 4-13/16" x 4-13/16" - front and inside of card layers

1 piece 3-1/4" x 3-1/4" - front of card topper layer

Blackberry Bliss card

1 piece 4-3/8" x 4-3/8" - front of card layer

Fine Art Floral DSP

1 piece 3" x 3" - front of card topper layer

4 pieces 2" x 2" - pinwheel pieces

Gilded Gems

Blackberry Bliss classic stampin' pad

Medium daisy punch

Ornate Floral 3D embossing folder

Card Instructions

Fold and burnish the card base. Adhere the 2 bumble bee layers to the front and inside of card. Dry emboss the blackberry bliss layer using the ornate floral 3D EF and then adhere flat to the front of the card.

Cut the 2" square dsp pieces in half from corner to corner, giving you 2 right angle triangles from each square. Now with the right angle sitting on the leftside place a glue dot on the right hand side point and then fold it over to meet the right angle (see below).

Take the piece of dsp that measures 3" x 3"  and fold it in half, unfold it and fold it in half the other way, this will give you guidelines for attaching the pinwheel pieces (as above).

Adhere tear and tape on the reverse side of each of the pinwheel sections along the straight edge, attach to the dsp square using the folds as your guide.

Glue the three layers for the topper together and then using dimensionals attach to the front of the card. Punch 3 daisies out and curl them a little using a bone folder, glue them all together and then attach to the centre of the pinwheel using a dimensional, attach a gilded gem to the centre of the daisy.

Stamp the sentiment image using blackberry bliss ink and then die cut it out using the dies from the art gallery bundle. Attach to the card front using a dimensional on each end.

That's the card finished and a bit more of your dsp pieces used up, yayyyy we all love that!!!

Thanks for hopping on to my blog and having a look I really do appreciate it x

    1. Awww thanks Anne, this dsp is so pretty thought I should get more of it used up before it retires and I love a pinwheel on a card think it adds dimension without having too much depth x Natalie
