Craftalong Tuesday - Ornate garden/daisy card

 

Hello again and welcome to another Craftalong Tuesday. I'm loving making these projects for all of my lovely ladies and crafting friends to have a go at, and this weeks is so much fun, I loved making it. The card layout was actually a challenge set by my dear friend Ruth Blackett on our facebook group Chatterbox crafters please do come and join us, we have a weekly challenge for you to take part in if you so wish, and we love if you share your crafting ideas with us all. 

Materials needed:

Old Olive cardstock

1 piece 5-7/8" x 8-1/4" scored on longside at 4-1/8" - cardbase

Scrap piece to stamp and fussy cut the leaves out

Basic white cardstock

1 piece 4" x 5-3/4" - inside of card layer

Scrap pieces to punch out 3 x daisies

1 piece approx 2-1/2" x 6" - die cutting of ornate layer

Scrap piece to stamp and fussy cut the flower centres

Bumble Bee cardstock

Scrap pieces to punch out 6 x daisies

Ornate Garden DSP - soon retiring

1 piece 4" x 5-3/4" - for front of card layer

Bumble Bee ribbon

Piece for around the white ornate layer 

Piece to tie a bow

Old Olive classic Stampin' pad

Floral essence photopolymer stampset - soon retiring

Medium Daisy punch

Card Instructions

Fold and burnish the cardbase, glue the inside layer of white cardstock to the card.

Take the piece of DSP and down the longside on the right (making sure the pattern on it is sitting the right way up) find the middle and cut in about 1". Score from where the cut edge is out to each corner and fold over using the bone folder. 

Die cut the white ornate layer and then as it's a bit big for the card you need to cut 2 pieces 2-1/2" long, one from each end of it (so you keep the pretty die cut edges top and bottom) you will have a small middle section that isn't needed. Join these 2 pieces together with tear n tape, on the reverse side, and then attach the ribbon around it, this covers up the join and no-one will know you have shortened it!. Stamp the sentiment onto it and adhere to the DSP piece. Now attach a glue dot to each of the folded section corners and adhere them to the white ornate layer.

Lay the DSP section onto the card front and mark where the folded section is, this will give you a guide as to where you need to stamp some leaves. Using one of the blender pens move the ink that was stamped for the leaves. 

Glue the DSP section onto the stamped front of card flat.

Tie a bow and glue this onto the card front using the glue dots.

Glue all of the daisies together, and after stamping the centre pieces, fussy cut them out and attach to the flower centres using a glue dot. Adhere to the card front flat with glue and then attach some leaves that are stamped and fussy cut out (unless like me you still have the co ordinating leaf punch), and attach these under the daisies. 

Card complete. I absolutely loved making this card the layout gives the card so much more dimension. Hope you enjoyed the project and have fun putting one together. Thankyu so much for hopping onto my blog to have a look I really appreciate it.
