About Me

My photo
My name is Natalie and I love anything to do with card/paper. I have been a papercrafter for many years now and I never get bored playing with all the wonderful products available. I've been married to my wonderful husband Nathan for 35years now and we are still very much in love with each other as the first day we met each other. We have 3 wonderful children and 5 gorgeous grandchildren so we have lots to be thankful for. Since joining Stampin' Up! in 2018 I've grown so much in confidence with myself and I even tackle technology, which for me is a huge step to have taken, but I'm getting there slowly.

Craftalong Tuesday - Snail mail pocket card

Hello everyone it's time for another Craftalong Tuesday and this week I have a rather cute card for you with 2 adorable little snails on, I love these guys I think they are just soooooo cute!  The card we are making today is a pocket card, and I think it is a great card to give to someone if you wanted to gift them with a giftcard, it fits perfectly inside the front card leaving the main card where you can write a message, so let's see how I made it..................

Materials needed:

Basic White thick cardstock

1 piece - 4 1/8 x A4 (UKSIZE) length scored at 5 7/8" for the main card base

1 piece 3 3/8" x 5 1/8" for the inside of front red card

1 piece approx 2 3/4" x 2 3/4" to die cut the postage stamp tag

1 piece approx 1 1/8" x 1 1/2" for the 'hello' tag

1 piece 3 3/8" x 2" for the inside of front red card (this forms pocket for giftcard)

Real Red cardstock

1 piece 5 1/4" x 7" scored in half at 3 1/2" for the front red card base

1 piece 3 1/2" x 3 1/2" cut from corner to corner to form front pocket on main card (you get 2 from this one piece)

Bermuda Bay cardstock

1 piece 3 15/16" x 5 11/16" for the inside of the main card base

1 piece 1 1/2" x1 1/2" cut corner to corner for the front red card base

1 piece 1" 1 1/2" for the 'hello' tag layer

Snail Mail DSP

1 piece 1 7/8" x 3 1/4" for the inside of the front red card base ( gift card holder)

1 piece 3 3/8" x 5 1/8" for the front red card layer

1 piece 3 3/8" x 3 3/8" cut corner to corner for the front pocket layer on main card (you get 2 from this one piece)

1 sheet to fussy cut the snails and letters out of (I like to adhere the different pieces onto scrap card before I fussy cut them out I just think it makes them thicker).

Card Instructions:

Fold and burnish both of the card bases and attach the cardstock and dsp to the front and inside where needed.

For the main card (white) attach the red triangle shape pocket piece into the left bottom corner, only glue the 2 sides (along the straight edges) as this is a pocket and you need to get our red card into it, attach the dsp to the pocket.

After stamping a sentiment I used the 'hello' and real red ink attach this to the bermuda bay piece flat and then attach to the corner pocket using dimensionals. Attach a pink bow using bakers twine and a small red resin heart. This card is now finished.

For the red card we now need to form the inside gift card pocket by adhereing th dsp piece to the white piece and then applying glue along 3 of the edges and attaching to the inside as below (again be careful only 3 edges it's a pocket).

Now onto the front of the red card, attach the white tag using dimensionals and slide the 2 bermuda bay triangles underneath, you might want to do this before you attach the white tag on top.

Fussy cut all of the cute little characters and letters out and attach to the front of the card, I glued the male one flat and used dimensionals for the little girl just be aware that the card still needs to slide into the pocket on the white main card so be careful where you place her. Attach a white and a red resin heart where you would like them, more if you wish and the card is finished.
Hope you enjoyed todays project and have fun making more with different papers for all sorts of occasions, I think they're such a great card to give as a present instead of just giving the gift card. Thanks for stopping by and looking at my blog, have fun see you next time on the next Craftalong tuesday.
