About Me

My photo
My name is Natalie and I love anything to do with card/paper. I have been a papercrafter for many years now and I never get bored playing with all the wonderful products available. I've been married to my wonderful husband Nathan for 35years now and we are still very much in love with each other as the first day we met each other. We have 3 wonderful children and 5 gorgeous grandchildren so we have lots to be thankful for. Since joining Stampin' Up! in 2018 I've grown so much in confidence with myself and I even tackle technology, which for me is a huge step to have taken, but I'm getting there slowly.

Sand and sea - Happy birthday beautiful friend

Hi everyone, and welcome once again to another craftalong tuesday. Today I've chosen a really lovely bundle that is an extra special one, as one of the main dies within the bundle corresponds with the embossing folder, which I think is just amazing giving such a delicate embossed look to all of the seashells. So without rambling on any longer let's get started with todays project, hope you like it!..................

 Card instructions

1. Fold and burnish the cardbase.

2. Stamp images and sentiment using soft seafoam ink and seaside spray on the white card piece for the inside of the card and glue inside card flat.

3. Glue the dsp piece onto the other white card piece, and glue flat to the front of the card base.
4. Die cut all of the different seashell pieces, including the single pearlescent one and then place them one at a time inside the embossing folder, you will see that they line up with the embossing folder exactly, run them through the die cutting machine, and then you will be wowed as to how fabulous they look.
5. Carefully using your snips cut the shells  from the sahara sand section, and then using a few, not lots of dimensionals layer them on top of the soft seafoam section. I've also used the seaweedy pieces to give the whole piece alot of dimension.
6. Fussy cut the dsp shells out and give them a bit of depth using a bone folder, then attach them into place, don't completely glue anything down, as you want it to look 3D rather than flat.
6. Stamp the sentiment using seaside spray ink and then add a few dots using the stamped image and sahara sand ink. Now glue this flat at a slight angle, onto the seaside spray piece of cardstock and then glue this onto the shell section.
7. Cut out the pearlescent shell using your snips and then place this onto the shell piece tucking it under and on top of different pieces, again to give a bit of depth.
8. Now take the vellum piece and using your snips rough up the edges of it, I've put small tears into each side as well. Take the shell section and place dimensionals behind the shells, put a small bit of glue onto the dimensionals and now attach this whole section onto the vellum (using a bit of glue makes sure that it stays attached to the vellum).
9. Now on the reverse side of the vellum place glue dots, again behind the shells, then attach this to the front of the card base on top of the dsp. Using the vellum just dulls the dsp down a bit making it look merky like under the sea.
10. Place 3 opal pearls onto the front of the card base and that's the card finished.

Hope you liked the project today, I really loved how it finished and I already have a dear friend in mind to send it to for her birthday.
Until next time take care and keep crafting see you soon.
Huge Crafty Hugs

Natalie xx
