About Me

My photo
My name is Natalie and I love anything to do with card/paper. I have been a papercrafter for many years now and I never get bored playing with all the wonderful products available. I've been married to my wonderful husband Nathan for 35years now and we are still very much in love with each other as the first day we met each other. We have 3 wonderful children and 5 gorgeous grandchildren so we have lots to be thankful for. Since joining Stampin' Up! in 2018 I've grown so much in confidence with myself and I even tackle technology, which for me is a huge step to have taken, but I'm getting there slowly.

Simply succulents - Thanks for you card

Good morning and welcome to another Craftalong Tuesday. Can't believe this will be the last craftalong for February seriously where has the month gone. Today I have a rather lovely card made with an absolutely exquisite die within the ' Simply succulents' bundle, which you can find in the mini catalogue. The die, cuts a whole piece of card for the front of a card layer, which looks just like it's a laser cut piece, and it cuts out so beautifully that all of the waste bits just fall out, which is always great when you have lots of them to cut out!.................... I'm using the 'Oh so ombre' papers that are from the sale-a-bration catalogue which is coming to and end on 28th February so if you'd like to get it for free with a qualifying order of £45 you will need to get your order in quick or you will miss out!.

I'm going to be giving the instructions for the green card but I have also made a blue card in exactly the same way and I've included the products for this one also in the product list.

This is the blue one.

So let's begin.......

Materials needed:

Granny apple green cardstock

1pc - 4-1/8" x 11" scored at 5-1/2" - card base

Oh so ombre dsp

1pc - 4" x 5-5/8" for front of card layer

Basic white cardstock - 159228 (ooops forgot to add to list)

2pc - 4" x 5-5/8" for the die cut layer and inside of card

Small scrap piece for die cutting tiny tag from Hydrangea haven dies

Small piece for the sentiment

Old olive cardstock

Scrap pieces for die cutting foilage and the sentiment banner

Mossy meadow cardstock

Scrap pieces for die cutting of foilage

Soft suede cardstock

Scrap piece for die cutting the flowerpot

Mango melody cardstock

1pc - approx 3" x 3" - punching out 2 lots of tiny confetti flowers

White twine

1pc - long enough to wrap round the flowerpot and then tie a double bow

Silicone mat

Stamping sponge

Instructions

1. Fold and burnish the card base. Glue one of the white pieces to the inside of card.

2. Die cut the piece for the front of card.

3. Place some glue onto the silicone mat and using a piece of the sponge dab into it and having the die cut piece on the silicone mat (use a glass mat if not got a silicone one but do clean the excess glue off quickly) dab the glue all over the reverse side of the die cut so that it's all covered.

4. Carefully glue the die cut piece to the oh so ombre piece of dsp and then turn it over and rub it with a bone folder to make sure that it is adhered all over.

5. Glue this whole section now to the front of the card.

6. Having die cut all of the foilage and pieces that are required (I infact stamped my flowerpot first with the corresponding image using the soft suede ink pad), tie the twine around the flowerpot, and using glue dots glue a bow in the middle, place dimensionals onto the reverse side of it, not too many as you need to tuck the foilage underneath  it, and attach to the front of the card.

7. Glue all of the foilage into place, some can be glued to the card itself, where others can be glued to the underneath of the flowerpot, this will give the foilage more depth, only glue using small amounts you don't want everything glued flat.

8. Punch out the tiny flowers and then glue them onto the foilage, use the take your pick tool to pick them up, I placed the glue onto the foilage rather than onto the flower, this is just easier to do.

9, Stamp the two sentiments, fussy cut the wording (form the succulents stamps) and die cut the tag one ( the die and stamp for this are in the hydrangea bundle), then using dimensionals glue them into place. After having attached the wording to the banner this can then be glued flat onto the front of the card.

Hope you enjoyed todays project, I loved the way the die cut laser effect looked on top the paper. The card is slightly smaller than normal but this was so that the die cut fitted nice and evenly on the front.

Thanks so much for popping onto my blog today and having a look I really appreciate it. Until next time, take care and keep crafting.

Huge Crafty Hugs

Natalie xx
