Hi everyone, and welcome to another amazing Touches of ink blog hop. The theme for this month was Christmas, and for those of you that know me you will know this is my favourite theme for crafting along. So whether you have come straight onto my blog or you've hopped over from Daniela thankyou, I hope you enjoy seeing all of the amazing makes and find time to hop onto all of the participants and leave them all a comment.
For my blog this time I've used the delightful 'Peaceful cabins' bundle from the mini catalogue. I'm just loving the things that can be created using this bundle, and the papers that are in the suite are absolutely gorgeous, I think they are a must have, in fact I've used so much I've had to order more 😊.

The first project I've made is a diarama card. I've used the papers at the back, as a nice background and then built up my layers using the stamps and dies, the ink I chose to use for both of my projects is Basic Gray as this colour is within the papers and I think it looks really lovely with the snowy scenes! I've used Basic Gray cardstock to layer behind my papers as this gives the card itself a bit more stability. For the front of card I glued the basic gray cardstock to the white layer, and then cut a square out using a rule and craft knife, I then attached the paper and once dry I cut a cross through the middle of the paper this then gets attached to the reverse side of the front piece. This is then cut from the reverse side and glued on the inside, as shown below.

All of the scenery is stamped and die cut out, shimmery paste is added to all of it using a pallette knife, and then once dry glued to the back, side panels, having different layers making the scene fade into the distance.
To the reverse side of the front panel I have attached some fairy lights before glueing the front into place.

I've added a bow using the gorgeous white glittered organdy ribbon and glue dots. The sentiment is stamped using basic gray ink again and one of the sentiments from the 'Heartfelt wishes' stampset, this is cut to look like a banner and then attached to the front of the card using dimensionals.
The second project I made for you to see, was another snowy scene, but this time it's inside a glass bauble. The scene was all made and put together on a die cut circle, cutting slits in the circle to tuck tabs at the bottom of each piece to tuck in and be glued, this holds them nice and securely in place, then the shimmery paste was added. While this was drying I die cut lots of circles out of basic white scrap pieces of cardstock and glued them all together, then I glued them into the glass bauble using a heat glue gun (this enables the scenery to sit nicely inside the bauble giving it a bit of lift). Once the shimmer paste was dry I then glued the whole scenery piece onto the circles using multipurpose glue. The tiny stars on the outside of the bauble were all die cut out using one of the dies in the bundle and attached to the bauble using a tiny amount of multipurpose glue for each of them, being careful not to smear the glass. Loved how this finished off and I think it will make a great gift for someone special to keep forever!
For my third project to share with you, I made a stand alone ornament that has the on/off switch attached to the inside of the base box (this is a box that has 4 sides to it, the top side being what everything is attached to) with a slit to use the switch and a hole the other end for the lights to come out of to then be attached to the underside of the handle.
The scenery is made the same way as the bauble with slits being made in the card base for all of the elements tabs to tuck in and be glued into place.

Shimmery paste is then added to the whole of the scenery section and left to dry.
The handle was made using 12" x 12" basic white cardstock, covered in the paper, score 1/2" on both of the short sides, and then these tabs are glued underneath a layer of basic gray cardstock ( lights attached using glue dots before both sides are glued down) and then this is glued to the top of the box.
Once completely dry the scenery section is then glued into place, and when you turn the lights on you can actually see the paste glimmer, I love this effect it really feels frosty and christmassy too!
