About Me

My photo
My name is Natalie and I love anything to do with card/paper. I have been a papercrafter for many years now and I never get bored playing with all the wonderful products available. I've been married to my wonderful husband Nathan for 35years now and we are still very much in love with each other as the first day we met each other. We have 3 wonderful children and 5 gorgeous grandchildren so we have lots to be thankful for. Since joining Stampin' Up! in 2018 I've grown so much in confidence with myself and I even tackle technology, which for me is a huge step to have taken, but I'm getting there slowly.

Craftalong Tuesday - One Sheet Wonder/Christmas in July

Hello again everyone, and welcome to another Craftalong Tuesday! Today I have something  a little bit different for you all to join in with, it's called a one sheet wonder OSW for short. This can be done using a 6" x 6" dsp or a 12" x 12". Today I'm sharing a 6" x 6" with you.
I actually made mine for a challenge that was set for us to take part in with by my dear friend Ruth Blackett over on our facebook group 'Chatterbox crafters'. This is a group open for all to join in with so why not give us a visit over on Facebook, Ruth, Anne and myself would love you all to come and join in with us and share your crafting creativities with us all.

This was the layout of the sheet that Ruth shared with us. You need a 6" x 6" sheet of dsp and then you need to just cut it as in the diagram, the rest is up to you to create 4 cards using these pieces of the dsp, the choice is entirely yours!
I chose to use the new suite called 'Tidings of Christmas' from the new annual Stampin' Up! catalogue, and oh my I had so much fun creating these cards!
My 4 card bases measured 8 1/4" x 5 7/8" scored on the longside at 4 1/8" the rest was just made up as I went along, and it's so surprising what you can make using these small pieces of the dsp.......

These 2 cards I made using the 4 pieces of dsp on the righthand side and the 'Tailor made tags' all of the foilage used was stamped and die cut using the 'Tidings and trimmings' bundle and the gold foil . Behind the tags, which had the linen thread through the tops of them, and the strip of paper I placed a piece of the gorgeous 'Evening evergreen chevron weave ribbon' and finished it all off with a few of the 'Holiday Rhinestones' in the cherry cobbler colour.

This one was made using the 2 triangle pieces from the left side of the dsp. I layered these onto a piece of the soft succulent cardstock and then down the middle part I embossed a piece of the Basic white thick cardstock, using the 'Wintry 3D' embossing folders, ribbon was then attached down the middle. The star was die cut in copper foil using the dies from the bundle again, then it was layered on to a die cut evening evergreen star, this was attached to the card using dimensionals, and then the sentiment was placed on top of the star and a few of the copper foil die cut elements were then tucked under the star and finished off with a few rhinestones again.

For my last card, this was using the 2 leftover rectangle pieces. The white embossed pieces were attached so they were glued partly over the rectangle pieces, the red piece had the ribbon attached around it and then attached to the front, overlapping the dsp and white pieces using dimensionals. The sentiment was also attached using dimensionals, then copper foil die cut elements were tucked underneath, 3 rhinestones were attached and the card was finished.

I had so much fun creating these cards, and I also got 4 of my christmas cards made yayyyyy!!! ......... this for me was a bonus!

Hope you enjoyed todays projects and you give it a go yourself, it doesn't have to be christmas cards, you can use whatever you have, give it a go it's so much fun, and if you'd like to share what you make over on 'Chatterbox crafters' over on Facebook we'd love to see what you make!

Until next time
Take care

Huge Crafty Hugs
