About Me

My photo
My name is Natalie and I love anything to do with card/paper. I have been a papercrafter for many years now and I never get bored playing with all the wonderful products available. I've been married to my wonderful husband Nathan for 35years now and we are still very much in love with each other as the first day we met each other. We have 3 wonderful children and 5 gorgeous grandchildren so we have lots to be thankful for. Since joining Stampin' Up! in 2018 I've grown so much in confidence with myself and I even tackle technology, which for me is a huge step to have taken, but I'm getting there slowly.

SUOC#266 - Designers choice

Hello everyone and a Happy New Year to you all. I'm starting this year off with a new venture which I'm really excited about, as I've been asked to be part of the SUOC design team, and so this is going to be where my new venture starts!!

This is the SUOC#266 and the theme for this time is - Designers choice, which is a great challenge when there are so many new products from Stampin' Up available to use.......decisions, decisions......

The card I've made is using a really great new bundle called 'Pretty Perenials' and oh my this is absolutely gorgeous, and I've also used the brand new 'Opal rounds'. You can find these in the new Jan - June mini catalogue. If you'd wish me to send you a copy then please do message me and I will gladly post one to you if you live in the UK.

So on with the card......

Materials needed:

Whisper white cardstock (Basic white to be replacing it )

1pc - 5 7/8" x 8 1/4" scored at 4 1/8" on the longside - cardbase

2pc - 4" x 5 3/4"  - front and inside of card

Scrap pieces - die cutting of 5 flowers (2 large and 3 smaller), 'happy' sentiment and 'BIRTHDAY' sentiment (3 pieces glued together).

Rich Razzleberry cardstock

Scrap pieces  - die cutting of 5 skeleton flowers (2 large, 3 smaller).

Old olive cardstock

Scrap pieces- die cutting of 2 x 3 leaf sprig, 3 x sprig pieces and 3 x flower centres.

Pumpkin pie cardstock

Scrap pieces - die cutting 3 x flower centres.

Opal rounds - 154289

3 x for flower centres and randomly on card front

Pretty perenials bundle - 156234

Card recipe:

Cut, score and burnish card base. Cut the 2pc for the inside and front of card, glue the inside piece into place.

Randomly stamp the large flower image onto the white piece of cardstock about 3 times and then stamp the smaller flower about 3 times filling up gaps (stamp the images using second generation ink).

On the scrap white pieces stamp the flowers and then die cut them out (second generation ink again).

Die cut all of the elements that are needed in the different colours. Glue the flower pieces together flat and place 2 opal rounds in the centres of the 2 large flowers.

Stamp the 2 sentiments needed onto the white card pieces and fussy cut around the 'happy', and cut the BIRTHDAY to size, then cut 2 pieces the same size and glue them flat to each other (this gives the sentiment lift without making it too thick).

Glue all of the elements to the piece of white cardstock that has been stamped on, cut the 3 leaf pieces into sections as required and tuck them underneath the raised flowers.

Glue the sentiments into place and add the last opal round, glue the finished piece flat to the front of the card base and that's the card finished.

Hope you enjoyed this project and it's given you inspiration to join in with the challenge over on the SUOC#266

Please do go and have a look at all of the other design team makes they are all very talented crafters and they have some amazing ideas.

Happy crafting everyone, look forward to seeing all of your ideas.

Take care

Big Crafty Hugs

Natalie x
