About Me

My photo
My name is Natalie and I love anything to do with card/paper. I have been a papercrafter for many years now and I never get bored playing with all the wonderful products available. I've been married to my wonderful husband Nathan for 35years now and we are still very much in love with each other as the first day we met each other. We have 3 wonderful children and 5 gorgeous grandchildren so we have lots to be thankful for. Since joining Stampin' Up! in 2018 I've grown so much in confidence with myself and I even tackle technology, which for me is a huge step to have taken, but I'm getting there slowly.

Small notecard and envelope gift box

Hello again everyone. Today I'm quickly coming on to show you how I made this gorgeous little box. The decorating and the cards inside I will leave up to you, but after posting this on to social media I had a few people asking me how I made the box.
The decorating is relatively easy to do, all you ahve to remember is to make each layer 1/8th" smaller than the layer before.
What you need to assemble this box is a piece of card measuring 8" x 10 3/4" and then you need to do some scoring:
On the 8" side you need to score it at 1 1/4"  and 6 3/4"
On the 11 3/4" side you need to score it at 1 1/4", 5 1/4", 6 1/2" and 10 1/2"
Crease and burnish all of your score lines and then you will need to cut up all of the score lines as shown in the picture below.
(I'm using a different colour card for this box than what I've used for my original box).

I must just say that I got this idea from a lovely friend called Ruth Blackett who showed us how to make it on her facebook page Crafting4friends.

Now you need to put adhesive on the 4 tabs as in the picture below (I've used the stampin' seal+ as this is ideal for 3d projects and so easy to use).

Close all of these tabs to the inside of your box.

This is what it should look like, and now you can use a circular punch to just punch a small section out for easy opening of your box as seen in the picture above.

Place glue onto the last 2 tabs and close the lid and seal them down around the box rather than just sealing them loosely as this will make the lid fit better.
Now you have your basic box and you can have loads of fun decortaing it however you like. I'll put a list of products that I used for my original box below. Have fun making one and decorating it.

Until next time stay safe
Big crafty hugs
Natalie xx
