Warm hello to everyone. It's tuesday again if you can believe it, I don't know where the last week has gone, it seems to have just flown by.
Well today I thought we'd do something a bit different. I thought we'd case the catalogue so I chose a very pretty card from the new annual catalogue, which can be found on page 13, I've put my own little twist on it and done it slightly different. I do however have a confession to make, and that is.....after having made my card, and loving how it turned out, I realised I'd used a ribbon that has retired, but I'm sure you can all find something in your stash to use, or in the catalogue there are some gorgeous new ribbons to be found. Anyway I think we should now get on with the card............

1pc - approx 10cm x 10cm for sunflower base
Bumble Bee cardstock
1pc - approx 10cm x 10cm for the sunflower top piece
Cinnamon cider cardstock
1pc - approx 5cm x 5cm for die cutting the centre of sunflower
Basic black cardstock
Scrap piece to die cut the sunflower middle
Just jade cardstock
Scrap piece for die cutting 3 x top of leaves
Soft sea foam cardstock
Scrap piece for die cutting 3 x base of leaves
Card recipe:
1. Cut, score and burnish your card base.
2. Glue your 2 pieces of whisper white onto the front and inside of your card.
3. Cut your 6" x 6" piece of dsp and whisper white card to size and glue them together, then using the foam adhesive sheet (you don't need to cover the whole back, 3 strips will do it , I just think it gives the main piece of your card a bit more stability), stampin' dimensionals will do if not. The leftover piece of dsp can be cut and then glued onto the bottom of the inside of card.
4. After die cutting your rectangle shape out, you need to cut a piece off one end (so it's the length you require for your card), and this can then be glued flat to your dsp piece. Now glue this to the front of your card having by removing the backs of your foam adhesive pieces.
5. Glue your sunflower together (I only glue the centre part of the flower as you get alot more dimension than if you glue it completely flat to itself. The black centre piece gets glued on from the reverse of the flower.
6. Place 3 x dimensionals on the reverse of the sunflower, in the centre and glue this tothe front of your card.
7. Glue your leaf parts together, again I only put a small amont of glue down the reverse middle part as you get more dimension. These can now be glued into place under your sunflower.
8. Stamp your sentiment and then cut into a banner at one end, then glue over the top of your ribbon making sure you can still see your ribbon, then this can be glued onto your card, tucking it under the sunflower. Place some faceted gems onto the card wherever you fancy and then your card is finished.
Not a difficult card today, but I thought it was a pretty little card and I think it would be good for any occassion.
Thanks for taking time to have a look at my blog I really appreciate it and it would be great if you could leave me a comment.
Take care till next time
