About Me

My photo
My name is Natalie and I love anything to do with card/paper. I have been a papercrafter for many years now and I never get bored playing with all the wonderful products available. I've been married to my wonderful husband Nathan for 35years now and we are still very much in love with each other as the first day we met each other. We have 3 wonderful children and 5 gorgeous grandchildren so we have lots to be thankful for. Since joining Stampin' Up! in 2018 I've grown so much in confidence with myself and I even tackle technology, which for me is a huge step to have taken, but I'm getting there slowly.

SUOC#294 - Valentines Day

Hello everyone, and welcome to another SUOChallenge. This time the theme is Valentines Day, which for many of us is a beautiful day to celebrate our love for those we really do cherish in our lives.
I chose to use one of the new bundles from the Mini catalogue Jan - June 2022 called 'Ranunculus Romance'.  This bundle has some really beautiful images in it which I feel are perfect for Valentine and such occasions!
So let's have a look at what I came up with this time, and then you could hop over to the SUOC#294 and have look at what the rest of the design team have made for your inspiration maybe even join in with the challenge yourself - details of how to are over on the link above.

I chose to use very soft colours for my card and then just added a touch of
Basic Gray to give a little pop to it!

1. Cut a piece of Smoky Slate cardstock 14.8cm x 21cm score in half at 10.5cm.
2. Cut a layer of the Petal Pink cardstock 10.2cm x 14.5cm attach flat to the front of the card.
3. Cut a piece of Basic White cardstock same size as the Petal Pink and attach flat to the inside of the card.
4. Cut a layer of Basic White cardstock 9.5cm x 13.8cm and aatach flat to the front of the card.
5. From the Heart and Home dsp cut some of the wood plank effect pieces out using your scissors. Stamp the written image all over one of the strips, using versamark ink, sprinkle with gold embossing powder and heat set with the heat tool.
6. Attach all of the dsp pieces to the same size pieces of Basic white cardstock. These all get attached to the front of the card - 3 flat and 1 on dimensionals. On 2 of the pieces the small image is stamped on, where needed, using Basic Gray ink pad.
7. Die cut all of the different elements using Petal Pink and Basic White for the large flower, Petal Pink, Basic Gray and Smoky Slate for the leaves and then Basic Gray for the filigree bits.
8. Stamp the flower image using the sponge daubers, Petal Pink and Smoky Slate ink. Die cut it out using the matching die.
9. Attach the large flower pieces together using glue and then to the card with dimensionals.
10. Add some tear n tape onto the large flower, peel backing off and then attach some of the Gray Granite twine onto it, leaving loops hanging over the edges.
11. Glue all of the leaves together, add the stamped flower using dimensionals and then glue the whole piece onto the large flower over the top of the twine. Glue a couple of the filigree bits to the card front.
12. Stamp the sentiment onto Basic White cardstock using Basic Gray ink pad then add a slightly bigger piece of Basic Gray cardstock to the back. Attach this to the card using glue.
13. Tie a bow to the stem of the flower then add some of the really pretty Polished Dots to finish the card off.

I loved how these images all made the card look, vintage and elegant at the same time.

I hope you find time now to hop over and look at all the other makes that are ready for you to see.

Until next time
Huge Crafty Hugs
Natalie xx
