About Me

My photo
My name is Natalie and I love anything to do with card/paper. I have been a papercrafter for many years now and I never get bored playing with all the wonderful products available. I've been married to my wonderful husband Nathan for 35years now and we are still very much in love with each other as the first day we met each other. We have 3 wonderful children and 5 gorgeous grandchildren so we have lots to be thankful for. Since joining Stampin' Up! in 2018 I've grown so much in confidence with myself and I even tackle technology, which for me is a huge step to have taken, but I'm getting there slowly.

Craftalong Tuesady - Expressions In Ink picture this card

Good morning everyone and welcome to another Craftalong Tuesday. Today I have a pretty little square card for you, which I've made in two different colours, and two other cards to share showing you how to use the leftover pieces from the first card, I hope you like them, I'd love if you left me a comment below!
So let's get started and have some fun together!
The main card is made using the 'Picture this' dies which are dies that stand alone in the new catalogue, last week I made a card using the rectangle shapes, this week I'm using the circle shapes, to show you how versatile these dies can be!

Materials needed:

Polished Pink/Pale Papaya cardstock
1 pc - 5" x 10" scored on the longside at 5" for the cardbase

Basic white cardstock
1 pc - 4 7/8" x 9 3/4" scored on the longside at 4 7/8" for the inside of cardbase insert
1 pc - 4" x 5" for die cutting the circle frames out

Polished Pink/Pale Papaya open weave ribbon
Piece long enough to tie through one of the circle appertures and tie into a bow

Expressions in Ink dsp
Piece big enough to punch out 6 x medium daisies

Gilded Gems
3 for centre of flowers

Card Instructions

1. Fold and burnish cardbase. Now open it up and die cut the circles out that come on one die as shown below and then give the card a burnish again if necessary.

2.  Now fold and burnish the inside of cardbase insert card and gue in place, making sure only the back piece is glued flat to the cardbase, as the front piece is going to be left free, giving the whole card more dimension.

3. Stamp the images from the 'Artistically Inked' stampset onto the circles that were die cut out of the front of cardbase, using the same colour ink as what the cardstock is. The 3 larger circles can all be glued into place through the appertures onto the white insert card.

4. With the white piece of cardstock that you have for cutting out the circle frames you will need to do as below.

Die cut the circles shapes out (keep circles for second card).

Die cut the frames out using the layering circle dies.

This is how they will look (keep the apperture piece for second card).

5. Glue the circle frames into place onto the card front.

6. Tie the ribon through the apperture and then into a bow for the front of card.

7. Place a dimensional onto the small circles that have been stamped onto and adhere to the card, make sure the dimensional doesn't hang over the apperture or the card front will be glued shut instead of moving freely.

8. Punch out 6 daisies and glue them together into pairs, give the petals a slight curl using the bone folder and then using glue attach to the front of the card and adhere one of the gilded gems into each centre. Card finished.

Card number two, using up the leftover pieces is a really quick and simple card which is quite pretty, and very pleasing as you don't wast anything!

You need a cardbase of white card measuring 4 1/8" x A4 length (UK) scored on longside at 5 7/8" for the cardbase.
The dsp is going to measure 1/8" smaller than the cardbase, around all the sides and glued to the front of the carbase.
The piece of white cardstock that has the appertures cut out is now going to be embossed through the 'Ornate floral' 3D embossing folder.
Think it looks so pretty, plus it helps disguise any marks left from die cutting the circle frames out!

This is now attached to the front of the card using dimensionals, quite a few so that it makes it sturdy for the front of the card and not bowing.
On the large die cut circle, which is going to be smaller than the apperture circle as we have cut the frames out making the holes larger, I stamped the large flower and hello image from the 'Artistically Inked' bundle using second generation ink for the flower and then glued this and two of the smaller die cut circles through the appertures  and adhered a jewel to each of them.
I tied the bow the same way as before, but you can if you like tie a bow seperately and adhere using a glue dot instead.
Finally I stamped some of the tiny flower images that are on one stamp together, some in first generation and some in second, these were die cut out using the matching die and then glued flat to the card front. Card finished!.

Hope you enjoyed todays cards, I loved that we got two done and using the leftover pieces for me is always a huge bonus. Thankyou for stopping by my blog and taking a look until next time take care and keep crafting!

Huge Crafty Hugs
