About Me

My photo
My name is Natalie and I love anything to do with card/paper. I have been a papercrafter for many years now and I never get bored playing with all the wonderful products available. I've been married to my wonderful husband Nathan for 35years now and we are still very much in love with each other as the first day we met each other. We have 3 wonderful children and 5 gorgeous grandchildren so we have lots to be thankful for. Since joining Stampin' Up! in 2018 I've grown so much in confidence with myself and I even tackle technology, which for me is a huge step to have taken, but I'm getting there slowly.

SUOC#269 - Colour challenge

Hello again everyone and welcome to another SUOChallenge and this week it's a colour challenge and the colours we are using are: Melon mambo, Basic white, Basic black and Silver foil. Love this combination of colours and they look really pretty together so let's get started........ but don't forget to hop on over to the #SUOC269 and take a look at all of the other amazing projects created by the rest of the design team.....

The card I've chosen to do for you all today is a very pretty one made using the amazing stampset called 'Back to Back blooms' which is infact a two-step stampset and I've so loved using it...

 Material's needed:

Melon mambo cardstock

1pc - 5-7/8" x 8-1/4" scored at 4-1/8" for card base

1pc - 1-1/2" x 2-1/4" for the sentiment layer

Basic white cardstock

2pc - 3-3/4" x 5-1/2" for the inside and front of card layers

1pc - 1-3/8" x 2-1/8" for the sentiment

1pc - approx 2-1/2" x 3-1/2" for the oval die cut

Scrap pieces for the stamping of flowers

Basic Black cardstock

2pc - 3-7/8" x 5-5/8" for the inside and front of card layers

Silver foil cardstock

1pc - approx 2-3/4" x 3-3/4" for the scallop oval die cut

Scrap pieces for the stamping of leaves

Silver edge ribbon

Matte Black Dots

Card recipe:

1. Fold and burnish the card base.

2. Emboss one of the white pieces of card (for the front of the card) and then mat and layer the black and white pieces onto the inside and front of card.

3. Die cut the silver and white ovals, and then stamp the dotty image on one side of the white oval, now glue these together flat.

4. Cut a strip of ribbon the length is your choice and using glue dots attach it to the front of the card, then place the ovals on top using dimensionals.

5. Stamp the leaves required onto the silver foil card using Stazon ink as this is the ink that will dry and not smear on the foil. Now fussy cut them out (clean the stamps used with the stazon cleaner fluid straight away and this will keep them looking nice).

6. Now to stamp the flowers on to the white cardstock. You need to stamp the melon mambo colour first using the flat side of the stamp, then clean it, turn the stamp over to the otherside with the image on, and stamp over the melon mambo image on the cardstock, using tuxedo black memento ink (this is the way I've done it), the images won't match up perfectly and they're not meant too either, but I love the impression it gives you. Now fussy cut the flowers out, I've cut into some of the flowers so that I could layer the flowers up to give them a bit more depth (so stamp and cut a few of each of the flowers being used).

7. Stamp the senitment in tuxedo black ink and then glue the two pieces of cardstock for the sentiment together, I chose to glue mine at an offset angle from each other.

8. Glue all of the flower sections to each other flat if your layering like I have and then using dimensionals attach them to the front of the card, place the leaves where you'd like them and then slide the sentiment into place and glue flat.

9. Place a few of the matte black dots onto the card front and that is the card finished.

I loved the end result of my card when I'd finished, it was one of those projects that built up as you went along and you just know when it's done!!...

Hope you enjoyed my project for today and I hope you find time to join in with this weeks challenge just hop on the link to see how!!...

Stay safe everyone and keep crafting. See you on the next challenge.
