About Me

My photo
My name is Natalie and I love anything to do with card/paper. I have been a papercrafter for many years now and I never get bored playing with all the wonderful products available. I've been married to my wonderful husband Nathan for 35years now and we are still very much in love with each other as the first day we met each other. We have 3 wonderful children and 5 gorgeous grandchildren so we have lots to be thankful for. Since joining Stampin' Up! in 2018 I've grown so much in confidence with myself and I even tackle technology, which for me is a huge step to have taken, but I'm getting there slowly.

A touch of ink - Hello friend

Happy friday everyone, I've used the lovely 'A touch of ink' stampset again today as I'm loving it, and I wanted to show you another card using it. I've used 3 colours for this card and I'm absolutely loving this hummingbird. So without me going on any longer lets get started.

Materials needed:

Basic white thick cardstock

1pc - 4 1/8" x 11 3/4" score longside at 5 7/8" - card base

1pc - 4" x 5 3/4" for the inside of card

1pc - approx 1 1/4" x 1 1/2" for the sentiment

1/2 an A4 sheet for stamping all the images on to

Melon mambo cardstock

1pc - 4" x 5 3/4" for the front apperture piece

Granny apple green ink

Bermuda bay ink

Melon mambo ink

Sponge daubers

 Wink of stella

Dimensionals

Card recipe:

1. Cut, score and burnish the card base.

2. Cut the inner layer and with melon mambo ink,  stamp the flower image using both the outer image stamp and then the fill in stamp and glue it into place.

3. Cut your melon mambo piece and die cut the largest straight oval shape out of the middle, now run this through your machine using the paint texture 3d embossing folder.

4.  On the front of the card base stamp the leaf image outer and fill in, using granny apple green ink (making sure it's in the right place for the apperture).

5. Place dimensionals all over the reverse side of the apperture piece and then place this on the front of the card.

6. Stamp all of the images that are required (use the sponge daubers to apply different colours to the hummingbird) and using the paper snips fussy cut them all out.

7. Give them all a slight curve using the bone folder and then using wet glue place them onto the card front, some of them are glued to the white card through the apperture and some are glued to the back of the apperture itself, this gives more dimension to all of the different elements, rather than just glueing them flat.

8. Now with the small piece of white cardstock stamp the sentiment using bermuda bay ink, and then place this into the die on the section that is going to be cut out.

Alternatively you can if you wish ink the many messages stamp up and using your stamparatus- 148187, ink the whole huge stamp up and then die cut all of the sentiments in one go and then you have lots of wordings ready to use for other projects. I chose just to use the 'Hello friend' from the 'A touch of ink' stampset which is a free one with an order of £90+ whilst sale a bration is on going (5th January - 28th Februaury).

9. Place a dimensional on the reverse of the sentiment and then attach to the front of the card.

10. Add wink of stella to the hummingbird and thats the card finished.

Hope you enjoyed this project and you give it a go. Take care and stay safe and happy crafting till next time.

Huge Crafty Hugs

Natalie x
