About Me

My photo
My name is Natalie and I love anything to do with card/paper. I have been a papercrafter for many years now and I never get bored playing with all the wonderful products available. I've been married to my wonderful husband Nathan for 35years now and we are still very much in love with each other as the first day we met each other. We have 3 wonderful children and 5 gorgeous grandchildren so we have lots to be thankful for. Since joining Stampin' Up! in 2018 I've grown so much in confidence with myself and I even tackle technology, which for me is a huge step to have taken, but I'm getting there slowly.

Curvy Christmas celebration

With the early release of a new bundle, I thought I'd share with you all something I've made using some of it.

This new bundle is called Quite curvy bundle which consists of a stampset and dies, but there is also a really lovely christmas stampset called Curvy Christmas that goes with this, and there are quite a few of the stamps that could be used all year round and not just for christmas. There is also a bundle (which I've forgotten to include in the product list) which is called Quite curvy variety bundle - 158396 and this has everything in it including a Classic Christmas 6" x 6" dsp pack which is really pretty.

So let's move on to the project and show you how easy this card is to acheive.

Materials needed:

Whisper white thick cardstock

1pc - 14.8cm x 21cm scored on longside at 10.5cm - cardbase

2pc - 10cm x 14.3cm for the inside and matting behind your dsp

1pc - approx 1.8cm x 5.3cm for the sentiment

Real red cardstock

1pc - 10.3cm x 14.6cm for the front of card layer

Scrap piece to die cut 2 x medium poinsettias and 2 x small poinsettias

Mossy meadow cardstock

Scrap piece to die cut 1 x medium poinsettia and 3 x ferns (from the curvy bundle dies)

Heartwarming hugs dsp

1pc - real red stripes 8.5cm x 14.3cm for the die cutting of the curvy dots

Brushed foil cardstock

1pc - of the gold 2cm x 5.5cm for the sentiment

Real red ribbon

Length long enough to tie a double bow

Gilded gems

3 - for card front

Gold embossing powder

To use for the stars on front of card

Jingle bells

1 - gold bell for card front

Thread of some description

To tie Jingle bell to bow

Card recipe:

1. Cut all of your pieces of cardstock and dsp. Score and burnish the cardbase piece and die cut the dsp piece.

2. Using the real red ink stamp the stars image to the piece for the inside of the card and glue flat into card using wet glue.

3. Now with the other whisper white piece of card, place the top piece of the die cut dsp to the top and just mark with pencil, where the curve is but don't glue it in place yet, remove it.  Using the versamark ink stamp the stars image again (make sure it is clean after using the red ink as it will stain your versamark if not) under the markings you've made in pencil, sprinkle the embossing powder over the image and shake off any excess, now use the heat tool to set the powder.

4. Glue flat the 2 x pieces of dsp on to the cardstock, glue this flat again onto the real red piece and glue the whole piece flat to the front of the cardbase.

5. Die cut all the poinsettias etc, curl them up a bit to make them look realistic, using the poky bit of the take your pick tool, glue all the layers together and then glue it flat to the card.

6. Stamp the sentiment and glue the two pieces of card for it together flat.

7. Tie a double bow and using a thread (the one I've used has unfortunately retired but any thread will do) tie the jingle bell to the bow and then glue to the card using glue dots.

8. Glue the sentiment into place flat and place 3 x gems on to the card - 1 for the middle of the poinsettia.

Card finished.

Hope you liked what I've shared with you today, I was really pleased with how it turned out and I think it would look lovely made in different colours too.
