About Me

My photo
My name is Natalie and I love anything to do with card/paper. I have been a papercrafter for many years now and I never get bored playing with all the wonderful products available. I've been married to my wonderful husband Nathan for 35years now and we are still very much in love with each other as the first day we met each other. We have 3 wonderful children and 5 gorgeous grandchildren so we have lots to be thankful for. Since joining Stampin' Up! in 2018 I've grown so much in confidence with myself and I even tackle technology, which for me is a huge step to have taken, but I'm getting there slowly.

Delicate Dahlias - CCC#3

Hello everyone and welcome to another Creative Colour Challenge where this week the colours are as shown below - Blackberry Bliss, Cherry Cobbler and Flirty Flamingo. When I saw these colours I instantly thought of the beautiful Delicate Dahlias stampset, which is a saleabration item that you can get free with a qualifying order, but only until 30th September 2021, so hurry if you'd like it, before it's no longer available!

Please do click on the photo above to be taken to the blogpost to see all of the delightful entries and also to join in on the challenge yourself!.

Now my card was a very clean and simple card to create which makes it a great card if batch making lots for any occasion, so let's have a quick run through how I made it.

I took a Blackberry Bliss base card and folded it in half, I then attached a Basic White layer to the inside and the front of the card, using glue, these measured 1/2cm smaller than the card base.
I then stamped two of the outline images onto Basic White cardstock using first generation Cherry Cobbler ink, then I stamped the in fill image using first generation in one and second generation in the other. The third Dahlia was done the same way only using Flirty Flamingo ink and the in fill was inked in second generation. All of the Dahlias after being fussy cut out using my paper snips, were given a bit of a curve using my bone foler, the first one was attached to the card front using glue the other two were attached using dimensionals.
The sentiment was stamped using Blackberry Bliss ink onto Basic White cardstock,  and then cut out with my paper snips, curved slightly with my bone folder and then attached to a piece of Blackberry Bliss cardstock, using glue, and attached to the front of the Dahlia using dimensionals.
To finish my card off I attached three of the Cherry Cobbler holiday rhinestones using the pokey tool end of my Take your pick tool.

I loved the clean and simple look of the card when I'd finished, plus it was so quick to do, I think it would look really good in all sorts of different colours just like you get in nature with Dahlias.

I'd love if you found time to take part in the colour challenge and share what you create with the colours over on the - #CCC3

Until next time

Craftalong Tuesday - Sparkle of the season

Hello everyone, and welcome to another Craftalong tuesday, I cannot believe it's already another week and we are almost into October, where has September gone!
Well today I've got a quick christmas card for you all, using the 'Sparkle of the season' bundle, which is a lovely bundle that's not only for christmas but it has autumn in it and halloween so i think it's a great bundle to have in your stash as it could be used for many different themes, so let's get started...............

I've taken crumb cake cardstock for my card base, this time I've cut it at 10.5cm along the shortside of an A4 UKsize sheet and then I've scored it along the longside at 14.8cm, you will infact get 2 card bases from the one sheet.
The inside and front of card layers are 0.5cm smaller all around and these have been cut using Very vanilla cardstock. The inside of card layer is glued to the card, the front of card layer has been embossed on the top section uisng the 'Wintry 3D' embossing folders. The section of the card that isn't embossed I have wrapped a piece of the 'Fine art ribbon' around the edges and then attached to the reverse side using tear n tape. I then took a smaller length of ribon and tied it to the piece that is already attached to the card layer, tying it into a knot, this was then attached to the fornt of the card using glue.

Using mossy meadow and soft suede cardstock I have die cut 2 of the holly leaf wreaths out, using the centre waste piece of the wreath I then die cut 3 of the holly leaves.
Using a piece of the 'be dazzling' paper, which is one of the free items available in the saleabration with a qualifying spend (until 30th september), I die cut one of the smaller wreaths that has stars on it. I didn't actually glue these wreaths together, I just intertwined them together, attached the holly leaves where I wanted them with small amounts of glue and then after having die cut some of the tiny berries out of cherry cobbler cardstock, I attached them with glue using my take your pick tool, using the putty end to pick them up with.

Using crumb cake cardstock 3/4" x 5 1/4"
very vanilla cardstock 1/2" x 5"
I punched one end of each of these pieces using the 'Banners pick a punch', and then on the very vanilla piece and using cherry cobbler ink I stamped the sentiment from the stampset in the bundle, and then glued them together. I layed the banner where I wanted it to sit on my wreath and then turned it over and attached dimesionals onto it making sure that I also had the dimensionals sticking onto the wreath section, this keeps them attached to each other. The whole piece is then attached to the front of the card base above where the ribbon is sitting.
The last thing I did was to add some of the cherry cobbler 'Holiday rhinestones' onto the card front.

Hope you enjoyed this weeks card, I think it was a very simple card to make and I really loved making it ............

Until next time

Creative Colour Challenge #2

Hello again and welcome to another creative colour challenge. This week the colours are as above and I must admit I struggled a bit at first, but I quite like what I've made using these colours, they aren't colours I would normally use together, but I think they actually look rather nice!
Please do click on the image below if you would also like to take part in the challenge it's so much fun to create together and see what everyone else has come up with.

So as you can see the card I've made today is a very simple card, using the lovely medium daisy punch, I mean who doesn't love daisies and using a punch is so much fun too.

I started with a misty moonlight card base adding a basic white layer to the inside of the card for writing your message. I then took a basic white layer for the front of the card, but this time I decorated it before attching to the card base.

Using the really lovely 'Textures & frames' stampset, which incidentally is one of the free stampsets within the saleabration with a qualifying spend, I stamped the solid rectangle image, using highland heather ink and stamping 1st generation and then 2nd generation right across the middle of the card layer.
I then wrapped some of the white twine around the bottom section of the layer and attached it to the reverse side using tear n tape to hold it in place, I then attached a bow to it, this layer was now attached to the front of the card base using glue.
I punched out 6 daisies from basic white cardstock and then using some of the ink and a stamping block I watered the ink down alot using one of the water painters and then brushed very quickly the watery ink over all of the daisy petals. The daisies weren't completely covered as I didn't want to soak the cardstock, I just wanted a watery look to the flowers. Once the daisies were dry I then gave them a slight curve using my bone folder and glued them together into pairs. The opal rounds were coloured in using my dark daffodil delight stampin' blend and once dry they were attached tothe centres of the daisies, these were then attached to the front of the card base using a dimensional for each one.
The last thing I needed to do was to stamp my sentiment, which was from the 'Happy thoughts' stampset, using misty moonlight ink. I then fussy cut around the sentiment and attached it using dimensionals.

As I said a very quick and simple card, but I loved how it turned out, these would be very easy to batch make if you needed a few of them.

Hope you enjoyed the project and maybe find time to have a go using the colours, and maybe even join in with the challenge too!

Until next time
