Snow wonder fun fold card - folds flat

Hello again everyone, I'm so excited to be sharing this beautiful fun fold card that I've case'd from a lovely lady on Youtube her name is Jan Mansor Brown and you can see her make this fold using a different dsp and punch on this link https://youtu.be/HRt_KMSzHd0

I'm going to show you as best as I can how I've made the card using the lovely 'Snowflake splendor' dsp and the really lovely 'Snow wonder' stampset from Stampin' Up!.

Hope you enjoy the make and give it a go as it's a really lovely, easy to assemble card and I think if you give it a go you will enjoy it.

Materials needed:

Whisper white thick cardstock

1pc of A4 Cut on the longside at 5 3/4" and then again at 5 3/4" these two pieces form the card base.

2pc - 1/2" x 5 3/4" for the 2 embossed side pieces

4pc - approx 2 3/4"x 2 3/4" for die cutting 4 circle frames (for the windows)

1pc - approx 3" x 4 1/4" for the stitched rectangle sentiment piece

1pc - 1 1/8" x 2 15/16" for the front sentiment layer

Scrap pieces to stamp and die cut your snowman and 2 x trees

Highland heather cardstock

1pc - approx 3 1/4" x 4 1/2" for the stitched rectangle sentiment layer

Scrap piece to die cut the label for the front sentiment

Snowflake splendor dsp

1pc - 5 5/8" x 6 7/8" cut on longside 2 7/8" then 1 1/8" then you have 2 7/8" left these pieces are for the front of your card and get glued in sequence so that your pattern matches up across the front.

1pc - 5 5/8" x 7 1/2" cut on longside at 4 1/8" leaving a piece 3 3/8" these pieces are glued onto the back inside piece again in pattern sequence.

Window sheets

2pc - approx 2 3/4" x 2 3/4" for the die cut circle window layers

Pool party sheer ribbon

2pcs - approx 16" to tie 2 x double bows

Card recipe:

1. Cut both of your card base pieces and then score 1 of them @ 1/2" on both sides and        3 1/2" on both sides.

2. Cut your dsp pieces, and keeping them in pattern order glue them onto the piece you've just scored in between the score lines and then glue the back inside pieces into place leaving a 1/2" gap along the lefthand side as this is where the front of the card will be attached eventually, and also leaving a small gap in the middle of the two pieces. Leave these all to dry before we die cut the circles out of the front piece, using the 4th largest die, you can do this by eye or measure where you want the appetures to be using a rule. (they're being cut into the centre of the 2 larger panels).

3. Die cut your 4 circle frames using the 4th and 6th largest circle dies together and then emboss them all through your winter snow embossing folder.

4. Die cut your 2 window sheet circles, using the 5th largest circle die, and using a small amount of wet glue around the edges of the reverse side of the appertures you've made on your card base, glue them carefully into place. Now you can glue your 4 frame embossed circles into place either side of both of the circle appertures ( being careful not to use too much glue as you don't want to get glue coming out onto your window sheet circles).

5. Cut and emboss with the embossing folder your 2 strips which can now be glued down the sides of your front card base piece.

6. Stamp, colour (I used Balmy blue, Highland heather, Soft seafoam, pumpkin pie and Real red Stampin' blend pens) and die cut your snowman. Stamp your 2 lots of trees having the back trees stamped in 2nd generation stamping, and then die cut them.

7. Glue your snowman and trees behind the windows using stampin' dimensionals, so that you can see them peeking through the windows.

8. Glue your side panel that has the embossed strip of card down it onto the side of the back card base piece that has no dsp on it, using wet glue.

9. Die cut your 2 pieces of card that are needed for the inner side sentiment, emboss the snowflake border onto the white piece using the embossing die within the die set, stamp your sentiment onto it and glue them both together flat, using wet glue.

10. Place dimensionals onto the reverse of your sentiment, being careful not to put them on the side where your front card side piece has got to slip under (holding your card together for standing up and releasing it to fold flat), glue into place.

11. Die cut your front sentiment label, stamp and cut your senitment and then glue the two pieces together flat using wet glue. Place 2 dimensionals down the centre of the reverse side and then glue this onto the front middle panel of your card.

12. Tie 2 double bows and glue these onto the front of your card using glue dots. Place some rhinestone basic jewels onto the embossed snowflakes on your inner side senitment and the card is finished.

Weekly challenge - Slim line card

Good afternoon everyone, my goodness it's so hot I don't really know what to do with myself. So I thought I'd share this lovely slimline card with you all.

Every week since lock down, myself and 2 other demonstrators, whom are very good friends of mine, and we all live locally to each other, set each other a challenge to do. This week it was the turn of Ruth Blackett to set the challenge, and she came up with us all making a slimline card each, and this is what I came up with. Hope you like it.

Materials needed:

Whisper white cardstock

1pc - approx 5/8" x 3 1/2" for the seniment

1pc - 3 3/8" x 8 3/8" for the inside of card

Cherry cobbler cardstock

1pc - 8 1/2" x 7" scored on short side at 3 1/2" card base

Scrap piece for die cutting poinsettias

Brushed metallic cardstock

1pc - 3 3/8" x 8 3/8" for matting layer

1pc - approx 3/4" x 3 3/4" for the sentiment layer

Scrap piece to die cut foilage 

Shaded spruce cardstock

1pc - 3 1/4" x 8 1/4" for matting layer

Scrap pice for die cutting leaves

Plush poinsettia speciality paper

1pc - 3 1/8" x 8 1/8" for matting layer

Card recipe:

1. Cut, score and burnish (where necessary) all of your card layers and adhere to the front of your card base (the plush piece of paper you will need to place small amounts of glue where they will be hidden so they don't show through). The shaded spruce layer is adhered using stampn' dimensionals.

2. Die cut all of your elements and then assemble the large poinsettia pieces together, now adhere them using liquid glue on to the front of your card where you would like them to be.

3. Stamp your sentiment and angle cut the edges of the whisper white piece of card, then adhere this onto the gold piece of cardstock and cut around the edges giving all of them even borders. This is then glued onto the front of your card using liquid glue.

4. Place pearls in the centres of the poinsettias and that's the card finished.

SUOC 255 Designer's choice/Anything goes challenge

 

Hi everyone,

We're having such beautiful weather here at the moment here in Witham Essex UK, it's a bit hard to actually concentrate on crafting, but I've given this challenge a go and I'm quite pleased with the out come. Hope you like it too?.

The challenge for this time was to be the Designer's choice of what they used,and I thought I'd make a quick christmas card using the technique called Track effect.

I'm absolutely loving the new bundle 'Wishes & Wonder' and the 'Tis the season dsp is beautiful, so I thought I'd make something using this.

For this technique you need lots of strips of dsp all measuring the same width, the length can vary as you cut lots of bits off the side when finished and shorter pieces can go in the middle of sections.

Materials used:

Whisper white thick cardstock

1pc - 10" x 5" scored on longside at 5" this is your card base

1pc - 4 7/8" x4 7/8" this is the front panel piece

1pc - approx 2 1/4" x 4" for the white tag embossed with embossing folder

1pc - approx 1" x 3 1/2" for the sentiment

Scrap piece for the stamping, embossing and die cutting of the stag

Cherry cobbler cardstock

1pc - approx 2 1/4" x 4" for the tag

1pc - approx 1 1/8" x 4 1/8" for matting the sentiment on to

Shaded spruce cardstock

1pc - approx 2 1/4" x2 1/4" for the die cut circle

Adhesive sheets

1pc - 4 7/8" x 4 7/8" for sticking onto your whisper white front panel piece

Card recipe:

1. Cut, score and burnish your card base.

2. Cut your front panel piece of cardstock and fix the adhesive sheet piece onto it, carefully peel the top layer of backing off to expose the sticky glue.

3. Have all of your dsp strips ready, all cut the same width, now start attacing them all over the exposed sticky section layer on your front panel piece. Adhere them all so that you have a small gap between them all at the sides and the ends and make sure they're all equal. 

4. Once all of the strips are covering your layer you can cut off the excess pieces (these can be used on another card).

5. Sprinkle embossing powder all over the layer (I've used silver but gold would look lovely too), tap off the excess powder and then using your heat tool heat the powder to set it where it's covering up the adhesive. ( I was worried that the adhesive sheet might not like the heat on it but it worked okay for me just don't concentrate the heat in one area for too long).

6. Glue this panel to the front of your card base.

7. Die cut all of your elements out, heat emboss the stag before you die cut it out making sure it is cooled down first, and emboss the white tag using your embossing folder, tie the ribbon through both of the tags when fixed together.

8. Glue all of your pieces into place, using stampin' dimensionals for some of them. Stamp your sentiment cut angles on both sides, glue to the matting layer and cut the edges carefully leaving a small border around the whole thing. Glue into place. 

Card done.

Hope you liked it this is a great technique to use and I actually saw a lady called Sam Calcott using this, she used glitter to sprinkle over the gaps, but I think it looks quite nice with the heat embossing........ the choice is yours.

Snowflake wishes fun fold centre

 Hello everyone, hope you're all having a fabulous time in the glorious weather we've been having. I find it very hard to concentrate on something in the heat, but I have managed to do this card for my usual tuesday craft blog, hope you all like it.

The card I've done for you all for today is a fun card and it's easier to acheive than it looks, so let's get started.

          

Materials used:

Whisper white thick cardstock

1pc - 5 1/2" x 11" score along the longside @ 2 3/4" from each end - card base

Whisper white cardstock

1pc - 1" x A4 length score @ 3 1/2" - outer wrap

2pc - 3 5/8" x 3 5/8" cut one of these pieces in half corner to corner emboss all 3 pieces

2pc - 3/4" x 5 3/8" for front panel strips emboss both pieces

1pc 7/8" x 4" approx for sentiment

Scrap pieces for 3 x die cut circles and 3 x die cut snowflakes

Pool Party cardstock 

2pc - 2 5/8" x 5 3/8" for front of card panels

Scrap pieces for 2 x die cut circles and 2 x die cut snowflakes (largest embossed)

1pc - 1" x 4" approx for sentiment layer

Silver foil sheets

Scrap pieces for 2 x die cut scallop circles and 2 x die cut snowflakes

Snowflake splendor DSP

2pc - 7/8" x 6" for outer wrap layer

1pc -5 1/2" x 11" for the inside folded piece

2pc - 3 5/8" x 3 5/8"  cut corner to corner both ways for inside of card

Card recipe:

1. Cut, score and burnish your card base piece.

2.Cut all of your whisper white pieces and emboss them using the embossing folder.

3. Die cut all of your circles and your snowflakes. You need 2 x Pool Party large circles,       2 x smaller sized whisper white and then 1 x whisper white the same size as the Pool Party circles (this one is going to be glued ont the reverse of your front snowflake topper to cover up the apperture left when you die cut a snowflake out of the silver foil circle). Die cut 2 x silver foil large scallop circles, and then from the centre of them die cut your 2 x snowflakes (emboss  the larger Pool Party snowflakes).

4. Stamp your sentiment onto one of the smaller whisper white circles (I used the stampin' write markers so that I had a mix of colours). Now glue your 3 different colour circles together (Silver scallop at the bottom, Pool Party next and the whisper white flat for the sentiment and on dimensionals for the snowflake topper), being careful with the glue through the apperture left on the silver pieces where you've cut out your snowflakes previously.

5. Glue all of your snowflakes together and then glue into place on your topper, tie a ribbon and glue this into place using a mini glue dot.

6. Stamp your sentiment onto your strip of card and cut the sides at angles, glue flat onto your Pool party piece of card and then cut around the edges leaving a small border all the way around the edges. Leave everything aside to dry and now onto the folded centre piece.

7. Score from each end of your DSP @ 2 3/4". Now mark the centre of your DSP which is 5 1/2" and carefully fold each corner one at a time in to meet the mark at the centre, burnish it making it nice and crisp and then opening it up to move onto the next corner. Fold the score lines that you made previously the opposite way and your DSP should look like below.

8. Glue your DSP into place inside your base card, match one end up and glue then glue the centre and the otherside should find its place nicely when card closed if you've matched it all up correctly.

9. The 2 x squares that measure 3 5/8" x 3 5/8" need to be cut in half corner to corner and then in half again as seen below.

10. Glue these pieces all into place in the areas inside your card that have nothing on them.

11. Glue your sentiment circle piece into the centre of the inner card.

12. Glue your 2 front panels into place and then your 2 border embossed strips.

13. The strip you have for your outer wrap place the scored edge up to one of the closed edges of your card and then not too tightly wrap it around the otherside and glue together in the middle overlap. The 2 DSP pieces you have can be glued into place (I glue 1 on, wrapping the edges round and then glue the other piece so that it hides the bits you've wrapped over and you just cut this piece up to the edges making a neat job of it.

14. Put your wrap over your card having the bit where the edges met at the front and then glue your snowflake topper on top adding your sentiment into place using small pieces of dimensionals.

Card finished hope you enjoyed putting it together you can use any card and papers to do this making it fit for any occasion.

Poinsettia building block card

Good afternoon everyone and welcome to another fun day of making.

After posting my card onto a group that I belong to I had alot of people asking how I made this card, and I thought it would be best to put it onto my blog with instuctions.

First of all though I would like to point out that although I designed the card the fold is not my idea. I watched a lovely lady called Sam Calcott making a card using this fold and therefore the credit for the fold should go to her.

So let's begin to make the card

Materials needed :

Whisper white thick cardstock

1pc - 7" x 11" on longside score @ 3", 4 1/2", 6" and 7 1/2" for card base

1pc - 5 3/4 x 1 7/8" for die cutting the stitched rectangle out of

1pc - 3/4" x approx 4" for the sentiment

Scrap piece to die cut after having stamped 4 x small circles

Soft Suede cardstock

1pc - 2 7/8" x 6 7/8" for the left side panel

1pc - 3 3/8" x 6 7/8" for the right side panel

1pc - 1 3/8" x 6 7/8" for the small left side panel

8pc - 1 3/8" x 1 1/8" for the small inner panels of card

1pc - 2" x 5 7/8" for behind the white rectangle

1pc - slightly bigger than the white sentiment piece

Scrap piece for stampin and die cutting foilage 

Garden Green cardstock

Scrap pice to die cut and emboss 4 leaves

Poinsettia Place dsp

1pc - 2 3/4" x 6 3/4" for matting on left side panel

8pc - 1 1/4" x 1" for the small inner panels of card

Sheet of 12" x 12 to fussy cut some of the poinsettias out of.

These were the two different sheets I used for the card

Card recipe:

1. Cut, score and burnish your whisper white card base like below

Having folded the score line back as indicated above you can proceed to cut as below down to the first score line for each measurement given.

1 1/4", 1 3/4", 3", 3 1/2", 4 3/4", 5 1/4" and 6 1/2"

Fold as shown.

Push the smaller pieces to the back.

Burnish all of the edges so they are nice and crisp.

This is how the card will look ready to decorate.

2. Cut all of your pieces of card and dsp for the layering, Glue them all on top of one and other and then onto the card where they belong.

3. Fussy cut lots of your poinsettias out (most of them are cut from the edge of the paper where you have the ones that aren't whole wasting nothing).

4. Stamp and die cut all of your foilage pieces ready to be glued into place on your card.

5. Die cut your rectangle as below this way you get a longer rectangle which sits nicely onto the side of the card.

6. Stamp your individual numbers onto your card piece using Versamark ink sprinkle with gold embossing powder, tap off excess powder and heat set. Once completely cooled off die cut your numbers out using the small circle die from the Tasteful labels dies (placing numbers so they sit in the centre of circle).

7. Position all of your poinsettias in place and then glue the foilage pieces and leaves  tucking them behind the poinsettias, now glue all the poinsettias into place making sure you leave enough room for the rectangle layer (which is mounted onto the slightly larger soft suede piece) to sit underneath the poinsettias and foilage.

8. Last thing you need to do is run a very fine line of glue down part of all the edges of your small sections that sit forward, so that you can adhere your circle numbers onto each section, but having just glued the tiny section on each one this will enable you to fold your card flat still, with the circles folding under. 

9. Stamp your sentiment onto your whisper white piece of cardstock using Soft Suede ink, cut each end at an angle, mount onto the soft suede piece and cut the edges to leave a small border all the way round the edges. Glue into place. Card finished.

Beautiful Poinsettia

Good morning everyone, I'm so excited as today the mini catalogue for August- December has gone live yayyy............ I can now share lots of projects with you all, and those of you who know me will know that christmas cards is my absolute favourite so I'm in my element at the moment in my craft room LOL...........

Today's project I absolutely loved putting together and the finish I think is really great, thanks to all the amazing new products fron Stampn' Up! I LOVE LOVE LOVE being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator not only are the products second to none but I also get to play with them before they go live WIN WIN for me........

So let's get started with todays project..

Materials needed:

Real red cardstock

1pc - 14.5cm x 21cm scored on the longside @ 10.5cm - card base

1pc - 5cm x 12cm for the front banner

Scrap piece to die cut 3 x ferns

Whisper white cardstock

1pc - 10.1cm x 14.1cm for the front embossed layer

1pc - 9.7cm x 13.7cm for the inside layer

1pc - 1.8cm x 9cm for the sentiment

Garden green cardstock

1pc - 10.1cm x 14.1cm for the inside layer

Scrap piece ot die cut and emboss 3 x leaves

Approx 16" to tie a bow around the front layer

Card recipe:

1. Cut, score and burnish your card base.

2. Cut and emboss with the embossing folder your front whisper white layer.

3. Cut and glue inside your card the 2 x layers in garden green and whisper white.

4. Cut and stamp (using the Stampin' write marker pens) your sentiment and then angle the side of it to give it a bit of interest.

5. Cut your real red card piece and your dsp piece for your banner, giving both of them tails, which you can do by marking the centre of one end of each piece and then going up 5cm and cuting from each corner to the centre mark. Now you can glue the dsp onto the card piece at the top and bottom giving it a slight curve.

6. Glue the banner piece onto the left side of the embossed whisper white piece of card and then you can wrap the ribbon around this whole piece and tie it into a bow. Secure the bow using a glue dot.

7. Glue this whole piece now to the front of your base card using tear n tape over the ribbon so it gets securd down in place.

8. Having die cut all of your elements for your flower out you can now using a craft knife cut the small flower out of the centre of the die cut flower as in picture below. 

(this enables you to get more depth to your flower and it covers the glue dot showing through your vellum flower).

9. Attach all of your ferns and pieces to the back of your flower, where you would like them to be and then using dimensionals attach your flower to the front of your card onto the banner.

10. Attach your sentiment to the front of your card, add some rhinestones and using a glue dot attach your beaded pearl onto your flower. Card finished.

Hope you like the project I absolutely loved putting this together, the suite is such a beautiful combination of papers, vellums stamps, dies and more you really need to give it a look.

1pc - 5 7/16" x 5 7/16" for the front of card mounted onto the whisper white layer

1pc - 5 1/4" x 5 3/8" for the inner card

A small strip for the top of the jar

Window sheet

1pc - 2 1/4" x 3" for in between the top card and the front layer card

Card recipe:

1. Cut, score and burnish all of your card pieces  (both of them will have small spines enabling them to fit inside each other).

2. Cut your dsp pieces and your just jade piece of card, which you will need to emboss.

3. Cut, stamp and cut the ends of your sentiment pieces and then glue together.

4. Stamp all of your flower elements and colour them.

5. Die cut all of your fern elements and leave to one side.

6. Glue your dsp layer onto your whisper white layer and leave to dry.

7. Glue your dsp piece onto the inner left hand  side of your inner card.

8. Punch your jar out of your layer piece once it's dry, I went in about 1" from the right hand side and pushed the punch in as far as it will go. 

9. Lay your punched piece over the top front of your outer card and draw round the jar shape, so that you know where to punch the jar out on this piece, now punch it.

10. With your outer card laying on top of your inner card (making sure it all lines up at the spine section) you can now draw where the jar apperture is so that you know where to stamp your water and stems. Now stamp your images and add colour if you wish ( I used the misty moonlight blend and the just jade blend lights ), leave this piece to one side until the outer layer is finished.

11. On the dsp layer piece you now need to glue your embossed strip and wrap 2 of the ribbons round ( sticking the ends of ribbon on the back of the card piece with tear n tape).

12. Take your jar element and take the front layer of tape off and place your dsp layer piece over the top placing the jar through the punched apperture. Place some of your gems into your jar. Now you can take your tape off the back of the jar and glue your piece of window sheet over the top to keep all of your gems inside.

13. Now you need to place tear n tape all over the back of this dsp layer piece and lining up the jar appertures glue the layer onto the front of your outer card.

14. Place wet glue on to the reverse side of the back inner panel and carefully glue this inside of the outer card .

14. Glue all of your flowers and ferns into place, carefully glue your small  strips to the top of your jar and glue your sentiment into place. Glue a bow onto the front of your ribbon pieces using glue dots, glue some enamel dots onto the card and your finished.

Hope you enjoyed the project I really did enjoy putting this one together, think I'd put more gems inside my jar than I have but we live and learn everyday.
