About Me

My photo
My name is Natalie and I love anything to do with card/paper. I have been a papercrafter for many years now and I never get bored playing with all the wonderful products available. I've been married to my wonderful husband Nathan for 35years now and we are still very much in love with each other as the first day we met each other. We have 3 wonderful children and 5 gorgeous grandchildren so we have lots to be thankful for. Since joining Stampin' Up! in 2018 I've grown so much in confidence with myself and I even tackle technology, which for me is a huge step to have taken, but I'm getting there slowly.

Sunday Stamps Challenge 258

Good afternoon everyone! Today I've taken part in the Sunday Stamps Challenge 258   which is a sketch challenge and you can see it over on their blog, you can if you wish even take part in it yourself !

Once I saw the sketch I immediately thought of this delightful bundle called 'Seascape' I think it's such a great bundle to have in your stash to make some quick, fun cards with.....
In fact I loved making this card so much I made another but went for a fuller look, still loved how it turned out though and I'll share it with you at the end of my blog post!

I've created this card with a Bermuda bay cardbase measuring 5 7/8" x 8 1/4" scoring it on the longside at 4 1/8" and burnishing it with my bone folder so that the crease is nice and crisp. I've then taken a piece of bermuda bay cardstock which measures 1/8" smaller than the cardbase all the way round, this has been embossed using the 3D Bark embossing folder (I thought it looked great as waves too), I've then swiped my versamark ink pad over the embossing very gently, being careful not to put too much of the ink on or you lose the wave effect, I've sprinkled white embossing powder all over and then tapped off the excess and heat set it. I just loved the way it looks like the waves, hopefully you can see it too and I'm not going crazy lol! This layer is attached to the front of my cardbase using glue.
I've die cut one of the scalloped contour dies in the white cardstock and then embossed this with the beautiful seashells 3D embossing folder and attached this to the front of the card using dimensionals.
I stamped the 2 large fish using the scrap pieces of the white cardstock and coastal cabana/bermuda bay ink. The seaweed in the background is stamped onto coastal cabana cardstock using the same colour ink and then all of these pieces I've fussy cut out using my snips.
The 2 smaller fish and the coral are cut out using the dies in the bundle, the colours I've used are crushed curry for the fish and granny apple green for the coral.
All of the pieces are now attached to the right hand side of the card using glue and dimensionals where needed.
The sentiment is stamped onto white cardstock using bermuda bay ink and then I've angled the 2 ends and attached to the card using dimensionals.
Hope you liked the card and find the time to please go and look at all of the designers cards that they have made for you, there are some amazing makes and loads of inspiration to be had from them  Sunday Stamps Challenge 258 join in with the fun too I'm sure they would love to see what you come up with!

Huge Crafty Hugs
Natalie x

As promised at the beginning of my blog post this is the other card I made using the same bundle, but just adding more!
