About Me

My photo
My name is Natalie and I love anything to do with card/paper. I have been a papercrafter for many years now and I never get bored playing with all the wonderful products available. I've been married to my wonderful husband Nathan for 35years now and we are still very much in love with each other as the first day we met each other. We have 3 wonderful children and 5 gorgeous grandchildren so we have lots to be thankful for. Since joining Stampin' Up! in 2018 I've grown so much in confidence with myself and I even tackle technology, which for me is a huge step to have taken, but I'm getting there slowly.

Craftalong tuesday - Bloom where you're planted

Welcome everyone to another craftalong tuesday. Wow can you believe it's the 1st of June my goodness where are the months going, they seem to be flying by, but thankfully the weather is starting to pick up and at last it feels like we might get a summer......... better not speak too soon!

For todays card I've used the delightful suite called 'Bloom where you're planted' and oh my goodness it's really great to create with, I think it's going to be a very popular one!

So without going on for too long let's get started with the project, which today is a little bit different as we cut a piece from the front at an angle and then use it for the inside of the card...........

Materials used:

Evening Evergreen cardstock
1pc - 5 7/8" x 8 1/4" scored on the longside at 4 1/8" this is the cardbase
Small scrap piece to die cut the grass plant

Bloom where You're planted DSP
1pc brick pattern - 3 7/8" x 5 3/4" for front of card (2 cards can be made with this piece)
Sheets with the flower pots on and the plants (some die cut others fussy cut)

Soft Succulents cardstock
1pc - 3 1/4" x 4 7/8" for matting under the paper lattice front of card

Gray Granite
Scrap piece for die cutting the macrame plant holder

Cinnamon Cider cardstock
Scrap piece for die cutting the 2 small flower holders

Basic white thick cardstock
1pc - 3 7/8" x 5 3/4" for the inside of card
1pc - approx 1/2" x 2 1/2" for the sentiment

Genial Gems
3 for the front of the card

Round and Square Brads
1 small round black one for the macrame plant holder

Macrame 3D EF
Embossing the inside of card green section

Card Instructions:
1. Fold and burnish the cardbase. On the front section mark 1" in from the top left side and the same on the bottom right side, cut this section off and leave to be cut and embossed.

I've used white instead of green so that you can see my markings easier.

2. Now cut the white piece of cardstock and the dsp piece in the same way, but this time mark each side at 7/8" instead. Only 1 piece of each are needed for the card, but his means that you will have another piece ready to make another card.

3. Using the white piece of cut card as a template cut the green piece that has been left to be embossed so that it's the same size and then emboss it using the embossing folder. Glue this onto the inside of the card leaving a small border all the way round the edges.

4. Stamp the sentiment onto the white piece using Evening Evergreen ink and then glue
to the inside of the card.

5. Glue the piece of dsp onto the front of the card.

6. Carefully glue the lattice piece to the soft succulent cardstock and then carefully using the piercing tool on the take your pick tool, pierce a hole through both of the layers and loosely fit the brad, this is going to be where you will attach the macrame pot holder, now attach to the front of the card, being careful that you only put glue where it is needed or you will glue the card shut.
Very small dots of glue are placed onto the whole setions only.

This is the inside of the card with the front panel attached.

Only fit the brad loosely so that the macrame holder can be placed onto it.

7. Die cut and fussy cut all of the elements that are needed, the macrame pot holder I've cut some of the bits off so that the pot can hangover the edges and it also allows the leaves of the plant to do the same , I think it makes it look more realisitc but his step isn't necessary if you don't wish to do this.

Just cut a bit from each side if you wish.

8. Attach all the elements to the front of the card section using dimensionals, tucking the plants into place using a small amount of glue.

9. Using Evening Evergreen ink stamp the sentiment, I only inked the words I wanted to use and then cut them at angles this just enables you to have the sentiment in seperate pieces.

10. Attach 3 of the jewels onto the lattice and the card is finished.

Hope you enjoyed todays card, I've really enjoyed creating with this suite it's fun to use and creates lovely cards very easily.

Until the next time
