Hello again everyone and welcome to another SUO challenge where this week for the SUOC#283 the theme is Fun folds! I was so excited when i saw this weeks theme, as I really love making fun fold cards, and there are so many of them out there to make, the only thing I found hard was choosing which one to do!
The card I've chosen to make today was entirely inspired by a lovely lady, I'm not sure of her name but if you click on the link it will take you straight to her Youtube video where she shows you how to create one of these beautiful fold cards. Iced Images is what her Youtube channel is called and she has called it a 'Faceted Hexagonal Aperture Card'.
Once you've seen how to make one of these cards, you will definitely be hooked and want to get creating!
For my card I've used Very vanilla thick cardstock for the base, and just the Very vanilla for all of the die cutting. The gorgeous Be Dazzling dsp is one of the amazing free items that you can get at the moment with the sale a bration offer - every £45 spend (not including P & P) qualifies you for a free item from the sale a bration brochure but only until 30th September 2021 and while stocks last!
I've also used a piece of the Painted Christmas dsp for the inside of my card and these pieces measured the same as my Be Dazzling dsp pieces - 2 3/4" x 5 7/8" which are slightly different to what the lady shows in the video, but the choice of size is yours entirely.
On the reverse side of my card I added 2 pieces, same size as the others so that I could attach my tab around the back and then hide it.
All of my die cut pieces are stamped and die ct from the very vanilla, the inks I've used are early espresso, evening evergreen, cherry cobbler and soft succulents - 155778 (forgot to add this to the products used list). The sentiment for the front of the card was from the Encircled with warmth stampset, this was stamped onto the circle that die cuts out of the centre of the detailed die from the Encircled in beauty die set, and then attached onto the other die cuts using dimensionals. All of the die cut ferns and holly elements are from the Merriest moments bundle ( this is a great bundle as it comprises of a hybrid embossing folder too), these are all attached using glue and then the whole thing is attached to the piece of window sheet using tear n tape, which is attached from the inside of the card.
Not very easy to show in a photo but the video explains it all!
I loved making this card, I think it is so clever and the lady from Iced Images is very talented so please do go and give her a look up and a like she is very talented.
Hope enjoyed what I made using the beautiful fold and give it a go yourself, it is alot easier than you might think.
Please do hop over and see what the rest of the amazing design team have made for you to see, and join in if you like, we would be delighted to see what you come up with.
Until next time
Huge Crafty Hugs
