Hello everyone and welcome to another Craftalong Tuesday! Well today I chose to use one of the die sets in the new mini catalogue - 'Brilliant Rainbow dies' I have to say when I first saw them in the catalogue I thought these would be great dies to have to make some really happy, fun cards with, so I just had to get them 😊, well I thought it would be rude not too lol!!!
Todays card is made also using a really lovely stampset from the annual catalogue, which I thought went really well with the dies, called 'Sharing sunshine' it has these really cute face stamps to enable you to give the sunshine an expression, which I thought was really ingenious! Now if you pop back next tuesday for my next Craftalong you'll see I've made another card, but this time I've only used the dies with the co ordinating stampset 'Rainbow of Happiness' showing you how wonderful this set really is.
So let's get on with todays card and see how we made it!
1. Cut a piece of the thick basic white cardstock 14.8cm x 21cm score in half at 10.5cm
2. Cut a piece of bermuda bay cardstock 10.2cm x 14.5cm. Cut a piece of basic white cardstock 9.7cm x 14cm and die cut the large rainbow into the bottom right side, this will give you a rainbow cut into the card piece, glue this flat to the bermuda bay piece.
3. Die cut four of the large rainbows, one in each of the colours - bermuda bay, granny apple green, mango melody and Magenta madness this time it is the cut out pieces that are needed, by cutting 4 different lots out this will give you enough to make 4 of these cards you just need to alternate the colours on each of them.
4. Emboss the 4 different colour pieces using the splatter folder from the 2 EF's glue all 4 of these embossed pieces into place through the matching hole.
5. Fray a length of the ribbon to give yourself enough thread to wrap around the whole layer. Tie a bow and attach to the thread using a glue dot.
6. Die cut the scalloped circle using one of the dies from the 'Give it a whirl' die set, using the mango melody cardstock and then die cut a basic white one using the other circle die within the die set. Stamp the circle image and the cute face image onto the white circle using mango melody ink. Glue the scalloped piece flat to the layer, the white circle flat to the mango melody circle and attach these to the card using dimensionals.
7. Punch out the clouds from the 'Sunshine & Rainbows dsp' (which is one of the free products from the sale a-bration with a qualifying order of £45 - not including p&p until 28th feb 2022) using the cloud punch, then punch out some basic white clouds which are glued to the reverse of the dsp clouds to give them depth and stability. Stamp the sentiment using bermuda bay ink and then fussy cut the words out seperate from each other, glue one on each of the clouds. The 'Happy' cloud is attached flat with glue the 'birthday' cloud is attached using dimensionals.
8. Die cut some of the smaller clouds in basic white and attach using glue.
9. Attach the whole layer to the front of the card using dimensionals and finish the card off with a few of the rain droplets from the 'Epoxy essentials'.
I had lots of fun making this card and I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did. Please do come back next week and see what I've done with these gorgeous rainbows for you to see!
Until next time
Huge crafty hugs
