Hi everyone, a few weeks ago I took part in a team swap from the new annual catalogue. We were put into groups of 7 and had to create a card using products from the new annual catalogue, we then had to make 6 of the same card and send them all out to lovely team mates that were in our group. This is the card I made for my 6 team mates.......... hope you like it!
Materials needed for the card are:
Basic white thick cardstock 1 pc - 5 7/8" x 8 1/4" scored on the long side at 4 1/8" for the cardbase 2 pc - 4" x 5 3/4" for the front and inside of card stamped layers 1 pc - approx 4" x 4" for the wheel turning section 1pc - approx 1/2" x 4" for the sentiment tags Scrap piece for the stamping and die cutting of the peaches
Calypso coral cardstock 1 pc - approx 4" x 5 1/2" for the die cutting and embossing of the front of card layer Tiny scrap piece for adhering adhesive sheet to back and die cutting arrow out
Linen thread Long length to fold in half and tie a double bow with
Card Instructions
1. Fold, score and burnish the card base piece of cardstock.
2. Stamp the small flower images and leaves around the edges of both white layer pieces using calypso coral and pear pizzazz ink. Glue these 2 pieces onto the card flat using wet glue.
3. Die cut the front section of the spinning mechanism and the apperture part, then emboss the bottom half of it using the dotty embossing folder.
4. Die cut the wheel part of the mechanism and stamp the images you want to show through each bit as it is spun.
5. Attach the wheel part behind the front section of the spinning mechanism using a brad.
6. Now place dimensionals all over the back of the spinning mechanism, making sure that none of the dimensionals interfere with the section that spins, but at the same time making sure it has support so it doesn't collapse onto itself once on the card. Attach this piece to the card front.
7. Die cut the arrow from the piece of card that already has adhesive sheet stuck to the back, this will then make the arrow self adhesive and alot easier to now attach to the card as an indicator to turn the wheel.
8. Stamp and die cut all of the peach and leaf images and attach to the front of the card using dimensionals .
9. Stamp the sentiment using different colours for the 2 words ( I find this easier if you stamp one of each and then cut them apart, you then have 2 sentiments to use in total) then attach these to the card front, I like to give them a slight curl with the bone folder so that that they curve in and give a different effect to the card.
10. Tie the bow and attach with a glue dot and then add some rhinestones and the card is finished.
I love the 'Give it a Whirl' die set it takes all of the stress out of trying to make one yourself and get the pieces lined up perfectly and there are 3 different apperture shapes that you can use, so it is a Win! Win! for me!
Hope that you enjoyed the project and give it a go yourself it was such fun to make.
Until next time take care
