Hello again everyone, oh my it's now October can you believe it....... last month seems to have just flown by.
Well today I'm taking part in another challenge over on the SUOC#259 and this time it's a colour challenge, and the colours that were chosen were as follows:
Bermuda bay
Coastal cabana
Mango melody
Daffodil delight
Granny apple green
We could choose 3 of these colours or if we wished use all of them, so I thought I'd give it a go and use all of them..................
So let's have a look at my take on this challenge............
I thought I'd have a go at making a chiristmas card as I do love making christmas cards.....................
Materials needed:
Coastal cabana cardstock
1pc - 5 7/8" x 8 1/4" scored on the longside at 4 1/8" - cardbase
Bermuda bay cardstock
1 scrap piece to die cut 5 berry elements out
1pc - approx 1/2" x 3 7/8" - sentiment layer
Whisper white thick cardstock
2pc - 4" x 5 3/4" - for the inside and outside layers
1pc - approx 7/16" x 3 7/8" - sentiment
Granny apple green cardstock
1 scrap piece to die cut 2 small and 1 large holly leaf out
White vellum cardstock
1 scrap piece to die cut one poinsettia out
Plush poinsettia speciality paper
Poinsettia sheet to die cut 1 of them out
Snowflake splendor dsp
1pc - snowflake sheet 3 7/8" x 5 5/8" - front of card layer
Card recipe:
1. Cut, score and burnish where necessary all of your different layers for your card.
2. Emboss one of the pieces of whisper white layers with the Winter snow embossing folder. The other piece of the whisper white piece you need to stamp your sentiment for the inside of your card, using one of the sentiments in the Wrapped in christmas stampset.
3. Glue both of these pieces onto the front and the inside of your cardbase flat.
4. Take your dsp piece that you've cut to size and roll the right hand top side corner over giving you a curl in the paper (I used a pencil to roll mine with) and glue it down using tear n tape (the tape can be added to the paper whilst it's on your pencil and then you can carry on rolling it over to glue it back on itself into place).
5. Place wet glue all around the straight edges of your dsp (not the rolled over piece) and the middle and glue to the front of your card.
6. Die cut all of your elements out using the Poinsettia petals bundle tuck and glue 2 of the berry bits under your rolled corner.
7. Die cut 1 poinsettia out of your Plush dsp using the die that matches the paper, which is from the Poinsettia petals bundle, and then cut another 1 out of your White vellum. Now using your stampin' blends (dark for both colours used) colour the reverse of your 2 poinsettias with the daffodil delight and for the Beaded pearl use the mango melody one. Leave these all to dry.
8. Having cut your pieces out for your sentiment, using the Bermuda bay ink, stamp your sentiment, which is from the Poinsettia petals bundle onto the white piece and then glue this flat onto the bermuda bay piece. This can now be glued flat onto your card.
9. Now that your poinsettias are dry you can glue both of them together using mini glue dots, then attach your coloured Beaded pearl onto the poinsettia again using mini glue dots. Place a dimensional onto the middle reverse side of your poinsettia and then glue into place on your card.
10. Now using wet glue tuck all of your leaves and berry elements into place and your card is now finished.
Hope you liked the card as much as I liked making it, I think it's a lovely colour combination and was quite pleased with the end result.
Take care and stay safe everyone till next time
Big crafty hugs
