Well suited - Blog hop Touches of ink

Today I'm participating in a blog hop with a bit of a difference, and the difference is that it's being run by my lovely friend who lives in Germany. I first met Simone Kleine through the Kylie Bertuccis winners blog hop, we face timed through messenger and had a really long and lovely chat,  Simone helped me set up my blog for the winners hop, so a huge thankyou to Simone for helping me out in my hour of need. Whilst on our face time with each other Simone very kindly asked me if I'd like to join in with her regular blog hop....... and the rest as they say is now history, although Simone did need to lend a hand again so thanks once again to Simone.

The theme for the blog hop this time was to use the 'Well suited' suite, so let's have a look at what I made for you, then you can go on the links and have a look at what all of the other lovely ladies have made for us to see............

My card is a very lovely fold that I like to go back to now and agian and it's called an easel card.

Materials needed:

Basic white thick cardstock

1 piece 5" x 10" scored on the longside at 2.5" and 5" this is the card base

2 pieces 4-5/8" x 4-5/8" for the front of easel layer and the base of card

2 pieces 1" x 2" for the base sentiment

1 piece approx 1/4" x 4-1/2" for the underside of the dsp blue strip

Piece to punch out 2 x 1-1/2" circles from

Basic gray cardstock

2 pieces 4-7/8" x 4-7/8"  for the front of easel layer and the base of card layer

1 piece approx 2" x 3" for die cutting the pocket and buttons

Well suited dsp

2 pieces 4-3/8" x 4-3/8" for the easel layer and the base of card layer

1 piece of the blue check to die cut the long stitched strip for the easel section

Selection of different patterns to die cut 3 ties, 3 extra knots and 2 bow ties

Basic Gray classic stampin' pad

Pacific point classic stampin' pad

Dimensionals

Mini dimensionals

Card Instructions

Fold and burnish the card base, the folds are both going the same way.

Having cut all of the different layers of dsp and cardstock that are needed, glue the 2 dsp pieces to the 2 white pieces. One of these glue to one of the basic gray pieces and then glue to the base section of the card flat. The other piece once it is dry punch a 2" circle out of the left of card (left when facing you).

Place dimensionals all over the reverse side of this piece and adhere to the other basic gray layer. Now glue this onto the card (this is the easel section of the card), only putting glue on the bottom half as you don't want to glue the card shut.

This is how it will look finished

Die cut the blue check section, once cut you can move the die along a bit and cut again so that the strip is short enough for the layer you are placing it on top of, now glue this flat to the easel section.

Die cut the ties and knots, place a mini dimensional behind each knot and attach to the ties. I placed dimensionals on the red tie, glued the other ties flat to the easel section and then attached the red one in the middle.

Punch out a 1-1/2" white circle once sentiment stamped I used basic gray ink , glue flat in the centre of the punched out circle, I then stamped the same sentiment in pacific point ink punched it out and then cut just the words that I needed using my snips, then place mini dimsensional on the reverse and attached over the same words.

The easel section is now finished and so we need to finish the base section giving it a stopper for the easel.

Die cut the pocket and the extra strip for the top of it, glue this extra piece into place on the pocket, place mini dimensionals on the reverse and then attach to the base of the card (this will now be your stopper).

Die cut some buttons and add 1 to the pocket, I then actually added 3 to the blue strip on the easel section.

I used the red dsp and pacific point ink to stamp 2 bow ties onto, I then die cut 1 of them out and fussy cut the other, using the bone folder I curled the ends slightly and then with wet glue only on the middle section of it I glued it flat to the die cut one. Place mini dimensionals on the reverse of either end of the bow tie and attached to the card base.

Stamp the sentiment out again using both colour inks, cut out the word 'Birthday' and attach flat to the other sentiment, I just think this gives the wording a bit of interest having used 2 colours. Attach this to the base of the card and that is the card finished.

Thankyou so much for hopping onto my blog and having a little look I really do appreciate it. Take care and keep crafting till next time.

Huge Crafty Hugs

Natalie xx
