For my card I've used so saffron and basic black, I've stamped my image with the beautiful stampset and then coloured in using my blends, but as you all know I cannot stamp images for all of my ladies as it is Stampin' Up! policy, so therefore I have die cut all of you one of the butterflies that co ordinate with the dsp.
Materials needed
So saffron cardstock
1piece 10.2cm x 25.5cm card base
Basic black cardstock
1 piece 7cm x 7cm inner diamond section
2pieces 4.7cm x 4.7cm outer diamond sections
2pieces approx 7.5cm x 10cm for die cutting 2 butterflies
Basic white thick cardstock
1piece 6.6cm x 6.6cm inner diamond section layer for sentiment
1piece approx 15cm x 15cm stamping of all butterflies
Butterfly Bijou dsp
2pieces 4.4cm x 4.4cm for outer diamond sections layers
So saffron stampin' blends combo
Calypso coral stampin' blends combo
Clear wink of stella glitter brush
Multipurpose liquid glue
Card Instructions
Cut and score card base piece as follows:
On longside score 5.1cm from both ends
Short side score 5.1cm
On longside mark in from each end 5.1cm - do this top and bottom
On longside middle horizontal score line mark in from both vertical score lines 2.5cm
Join the marks up by scoring as per the picture below (I like to use a score tool and rule).
Fold and burnish the horizontal and vertical score lines - these all fold the same way
Fold the other score lines opposite way but don't burnish them.
Stamp the sentiment onto the white cardstock using tuxedo black memento ink - remember this needs to go in the direction that the card will be sitting on the card.
Glue this onto the black card layer and then glue onto the inner section of the card making sure you only place glue across the section that is going to be on the bottom, the top section needs to be glue free.
This is what it will look like from behind.
Glue the dsp squares onto the black squares that are remaining and then these can be attached to the 2 diamond shapes that are at the front of the card.
Place the large butterfly stamp onto the stamparatus and ink it up with the tuxedo black memento ink pad, you might need to give it 2 stamps but as long as you have your magnets holding the white cardstock down you can stamp as many times as you like knowing it will always be in the same place. Colour the butterflies in using stampin' blends and then die cut out.
Die cut one of the same size butterflies out using black cardstock, you just need a piece that fits behind the one you need and then die cut the same size butterfly out using the single detailed dies which is more intricate.
Give all of the butterflies a slight curl with the bone folder and glue the body sections together, solid black/bottom, coloured/middle and intricate/top. Place glue onto the body of the butterfly and attach to the card.
That is the card finished..... ooooo apart from I then added some wink of stella to my butterflies to give them a little sparkle. Hope you like it, I loved it and it's all thanks to Lisa Curcio who is so talented.
