SUOC 274 - Animal Kingdom

Hello again everyone and welcome to the SUOC#274 where this time the theme is - Animal Kingdom. When I saw what the challenge was I couldn't resist using one of my favourite stampset bundles 'Whale done', I love this set and I was delighted to see that it wasn't going to be retiring, so we have it for another year yayyyy!!. Unfortunately the beautiful dsp that went with this bundle was retiring and has now gone!......... I still have a bit to use up so have used a piece on my card.

The card I've made for you today is a relatively easy one, I've incorporated a piece of window sheet so that it looks like we're looking into the ocean through a window, so let's have a look at how I've made it................... yes I'm sorry but I have used a small piece of the dsp but I'm sure we could make our own background just as easily if we don't have this dsp.

Materials needed:

Pool Party cardstock

1 piece of A4 (UK size) cut in half on short side at 4 1/8" and scored on longside at 5 7/8"

2 pieces - 4" x 5 3/4" cut from the other half of the A4 sheet (1 die cut in the centre for the frame layer using the 4th largest rectangle die and the other is embossed for the inside of card layer)

1 small piece for the sentiment layer

Scrap pieces to stamp 6 of the seaweed and fussy cut out

Basic White cardstock (159228)

Scrap pieces for stamping 4 seahorses, 1 whale and 1 jellyfish all fussy cut out apart from the whale which can be punched out

1 piece for the sentiment

Whale of a time dsp (discontinued)

1 piece that I've used slightly smaller than the frame layer but you could just have another pool party piece this size and stamp images with the different ink colours to create your own background scene.

Basic Gray classic stampin' pad - to stamp the whale/punch out

Pool Party classic stampin' pad - to stamp the sentiment and bubbles onto the background

Shaded Spruce classic stampin' pad - to stamp the seaweed/fussy cut out

Calypso coral classic stampin' pad - to stamp the seahorses/fussy cut out

Bumble bee classic stampin' pad - to stamp the tiny fish onto the background

Granny Apple Green classic stampin' pad - to stamp the seaweed and the jellyfish/ fussy cut out

Window sheet

1 piece smaller than the frame layer

Seashells 3D embossing folder

To emboss the frame once die cut out and for the inside of card layer

Whale of a time sequins

Seashell sequins on the ocean background

Mini glue dots

Use these to attach the sequins on with

Stitched rectangle dies - to die cut the frame for front of card ( the middle piece is used on the inside of the card)

Foam adhesive sheets

Strips cut for on the reverse of the frame over the window sheet

Tear & tape adhesive

Use this to adhere the window sheet onto the reverse side of the frame

Now it's a case of assembling all of your pieces and having fun putting them all together. The jellyfish, whale and the sentiment all have dimensionals on the back of them just to give a bit of depth everything else I've attached flat with glue.

inside of card

Hope you enjoyed the card I've made I really enjoyed putting this together 'cos as I have said I really love this cute stampset. Please do pop over to the SUOC#274 and take a look at what all of the other lovely designers have come up for you and maybe get lots of inspiration from all of their designs. Thankyou so much for popping onto my blog to take a look, take care till next time.

Huge Crafty Hugs
