#SUOC271 - Sweet strawberry birthday card

Wow it's time for the next #SUOC271 challenge, and the theme for this week is Sweet things - food & drink. I just couldn't resist using the really lovely 'Sweet strawberry' bundle, which is a stampset and a punch. With strawberry season fast approaching us here in the UK I think this delightful bundle will be great for those of us that make our own jams!

The card I've chosen to make this week is a very easy to make card but I think anyone that receives it will love it all the same. So let's get started.............

Materials needed

Basic white thick cardstock

1piece - 5" x 10" scored on longside at 5" - cardbase

1piece - 4" x 4" - front of card layer

1 piece approx 3/4" x 3" - sentiment

Real red cardstock

1 piece - 4-7/8" x 4-7/8" - front of card layer

1 piece - 4-3/4" x 4-3/4" - inside of card

Scrap piece for 3 x strawberries to be punched out

Old olive cardstock

1 piece 4-1/8" x 4-1/8" - for front of card layer

Scrap piece for 3 x leaves and strawberry hulls to be punched out

Clear wink of stella glitter brush

White Stampin' chalk pen

Rhinestone basic jewels

Stampin' dimensionals

Card Instructions

Fold and burnish the card base using the bone folder.

Stamp strawberry images around the edges of both the real red pieces of card using real red ink. Adhere the inside piece in the card, tear a few bits on the edges of the front of card piece and using your fingers ruffle them up a bit, this gives the card a different look and a bit of dimension too, adhere to the front of the card base.

Stamp 2 of the leaf and flower images onto the white card piece, and just a leaf in the corner section of it. Dab the corner of the clear stampin' block into the old olive ink pad not too much you only need a small amount. Now using the wink of stella mix the ink with the brush nib and colour the leaves and flowers in, gives a nice glittery blending effect. Attach this to the old olive layer using glue and then attach the whole piece to the front of the card base.

Punch out all of the elements required - strawberry in red and hulls and leaves in green. Now to stamp the images onto them all using the stamparatus....

First with scrap card punch all of the images out, then place this piece onto the stamparatus foam pad (as its a photopolymer stamp) and hold into place using the magnets, place the strawberry stamp into the cut out, close the clear plate and the stamp will attach itself lift and proceed as follows......

Place the punched out strawberry into the cut out section.

Apply real red ink to the stamp and then close the plate therefore inking the image exactly where you need it to be.
Repeat this step with all of the strawberries removing each one once done.
The leaves and hulls are done in the same way only you can do them at the same time as its the same colour ink - old olive that will be used for both of them.

Use the chalk marker pen to apply dots on the strawberries and a bit of highlight to the leaves, curl them slightly once dry, using the bone folder, apply dimensionals on the reverse of the strawberries attach them to the card front. Apply glue to the leaves and hulls and glue into place.
Stamp the sentiment using real red ink and place dimensionals on to one end and attach to the card front.
Place rhinestones onto the card front and your finished. Simple card but very effective.
