SUOC#295 - Heat Embossing

Hi everyone and welcome to another SUOchallenge where this time the theme is 'Heat Embossing' and for those of you who might not of tried this technique, oh my you! you definitely need to give it a go, it's so much fun!

I chose to use the Blessings of home bundle for most of what I have done today, but I did also use the Honeybee home bundle to create the beautiful bumble bee, well it would have been rude not to include him on the card right?
Let's see how I created my card then..............

1. Cut a white piece of basic white thick cardstock 14.8cm x 21cm and score in half at 10.5cm for the cardbase.
2. Cut a piece of basic white and a piece of basic gray cardstock both measuring 10.2cm x 14.5cm and attach to the inside and the front of the card base, using glue.
3. Cut a piece of basic white cardstock 9.7cm x 14cm. Take the 3D Hive embossing folder and rub your versamark ink pad on one side of the folder (this is the side that has the black guideline marked on it), place the piece of card in the folder and run through your die cutting machine. Remove from the folder and sprinkle the silver embossing powder all over tap off the excess and then heat using your heat tool, the powder will start to shine as it melts and sets.
4. Tie some linen thread around  the embossed layer, add a bow to the side using a glue dot and then attach flat to the basic gray layer using glue.
5. Stamp the large flower image twice, and one of the bee onto basic white card using Memento Ink and die cut them out. Colour the images in, I used both Pale Papaya stampin' Blends for the flowers and then added some dark Calypso Coral to them. For the leaves and the bee I used the watercolour Pencils but just coloured without using water (garden green for the leaves and then daffodil delight and basic black for the bumble bee). Cut some of the flowers out from one of the images, give them a slight curve with the bone folder, attach over the matching images using glue, this gives the whole image more depth. Attach this onto the front of the card using dimensionals.
6. Die cut some of the foliage pieces, using  garden green and basic white card, attach these using glue and tucking them under the flower image.
7. Stamp the sentiment once in memento ink the other with versamark ink and heat emboss in silver. Cut the words out that are needed and attach to the card front. Add some of the Polished Dots to finish the card off.

I did this in the silver........

........and this in the black

Hope you enjoyed my project today and go and give it a go yourself. Why not jump over to the SUOC#295 and join in with the challenge yourself, you will find lots of inspiration over there from all of the other design team members, and we would all love to see your creations for this challenge too!

Until next time
