Blog hop Touches of Ink - Mini Catalogue

Wow I can't believe it's time for another blog hop with all of the lovely ladies from all over the world. I sadly had to miss the last one but am very delighted to be taking part in this months. So if you have just hopped over on to my blog from the very lovely and talented Anja Ehmann then welcome, if you are just looking at my blog then please do hop around and see what everyone has made for you to see.
This month  the theme was to choose one of our favourite bundles or suites from the mini catalogue, and I have to say I did struggle as there are so many I'm loving at the moment, hopefully you will like the one I chose to use?

I've chosen the really lovely 'Natures harvest' which is on page 55 of the mini catalogue. It has many different elements in the suite and one of them is the really lovely cork paper.
As soon as I saw this paper I thought of a frame and I love how it looks along with the old olive cardstock and ink, I think they really compliment each other. I stencilled a circle using crushed curry ink for the background and then using the cut out circle and placing it over the top of the inked circle I used misty moonlight to add a very soft halo around it.
The splatters are created by flicking the brush end of old olive dark stampin' blend into the lid, this gives a lovely splatter of ink. I learnt this technique from a very talented young lady called Emma Goddard and I can't stop using it..... I LOVE IT!.

I used daffodil delight and old olive stampin' blends to colour my daisies in. Loved how this one turned out!

For my second card I used blackberry bliss for the card base and then added alayer of crushed curry, and I have to say that I really like the way these two colours blend together so well......... I stamped the flower images all over the bottom part of the basic white layer, using tuxedo black, this is a good ink to use when using the stampin' blends as it is a dye based ink and it doesn't bleed with the colours. This time for my flowers I have used daffodil delight for the centres, blackberry bliss for the petals and old olive again for the leaves and stems. I've used the same technique again for the splatters, but this time I used the light stampin' blend. The sentiment is stamped in blackberry bliss ink, this section is attached tothe crushed curry layer using dimensionals.

Some of the flowers were stamped and coloured then fussy cut out and attached over the top of the other flowers, this makes it look more 3D.

My last card was a funfold card made using basic white thick cardstock, and then I cut some of the gorgeous papers up that go with this suite for the colour. I stamped the flowers the same way as before but I coloured them in this time using daffodil delight for the centres, smok slate light for the petals, and old olive for the stems and leaves. I did also add a few dots of the dark pumpkin pie blend to the centres of the flowers just to make them a little bit darker. The die cut wheat was on basic white and coloured in with the blends. I added 3 of the really lush Brushed metallic dots to finish the card off..... oh and of course let's not forget the double bow using the linen thread.

The flowers were attached to the die cuts from the Encircled in beauty dies using old olive cardstock and then the centre was replaced with a basic white one and splattered with daffodil delight this time.

This is what the card looks like from above

But what's great is that it folds flat to go in an envelope still yayyyyy!!!!

You start off with a piece of cardstock 4 1/8" x 8 1/4"
With the shortside up the top you cut in on both sides at 1" from 1 1/4" down to 7"
Turn the card so the longside is along the top and score at 1 1/4" and 2 1/2"  on one side do this outside the cut lines on the otherside do this on the inside of the cut lines and then it folds in on itself and you begin the fun!

Hope you enjoyed what I made for you today and go and give them a go yourself this suite is so beautiful to use, infact I'm going off now to make some more bits with it.
Please now hop over and see what the lovely Simone Kleine has made for you to see, have fun and enjoy.

Until next time
