Concertina card in a Treat box

Good morning and welcome to another Craft along tuesday. Today I have something different for all of you to try, it's a concertina style card within a box, hope you like it. I had lots of fun creating this and thought I'd love to share it with you all. Now when the project is finished you can decide for yourselves whether you want to fix the concertina part inside the box or have it loose, I chose to have it fixed 'cos I thought when I use it I could just attach a small white oval die cut to one of the pages having wrote a message on it, for the recipient.

So lets begin......................

Materials needed:

1 x Love you always treat box - Box wrap and Box drawer

Bumblebee cardstock

Cut pieces to go on all of the box wrap and the two ends of the drawer. These will be the first layers that are glued into place so they need to be the largest ones (6 in total).
Cut 2pc  for 2 of the pages of the concertina card making them slightly smaller.
Cut 1pc the same size as the concertina pages 2-1/2" x 3-7/8" for the inside base of the box drawer.

Mossy meadow cardstock

Cut 3pc for the 3 pages of the concertina card making them slightly smaller.
Cut 2pc slightly bigger than the white pieces for the inside of card sentiments.
Die cut for top of box sentiment using the small die from 'Potted succulents' dies

1 x A4 sheet Basic white cardstock

Cut one piece full length on the short side at 3-7/8" and then score at 2-1/2", 5", 7-1/2", and 10"  -  for the concertina card piece.
1pc - 2-1/2 x 3-7/8" for the 5th page of concertina card.
Cut pieces to go on all of the box wrap and the two ends of the drawer. These will be the second layers that are glued into place so they need to be slightly smaller than the bumblebee first layers (6 in total).

Scrap pieces of basic white

Piece to punch out 4 medium sized daisies from.
Die cut for top of box sentiment piece using the small die from 'Potted succulents' dies.
2 pieces cut to the size you require for the inside of card sentiments.
1pc - Punch 1 x large dragonfly out for adhereing to the back of dsp dragonfly for stability.

Dandy Garden dsp 6" x 6"

Cut pieces (from the same pattern) to go on all of the box wrap and the two ends of the drawer, These will be the third layers that are glued into place so they need to be slightly smaller than the white layers (6 in total).
Cut 2pc for the 2 pages of the concertina card making them the same size as the pages 2-1/2" x 3-7/8".
Punch out 4 dragonflies (2 large, 2 small) from the dsp with them on. Glue the white card dragonfly to the reverse side of one of the large ones.

1 x Ladybug trinkets

Length of the mossy meadow trim

Wink of stella to make the flowers and dragonflies sparkle

Instructions:

1. Make the box drawer up.
Fold the smaller sides first, then fold the side which has a slit in it down.

Now when you fold the last section which has a slight tab on it this will slot into the section that had a slit in it and hold the whole box shut tight.

2. Cut all of the different layers for the box wrap, the box drawer and the base of the box drawer and glue them all into place (remember each layer that is added is going to be slightly smaller than the one before). Before glueing the front of the box wrap layers into place attach the trim around it using adhesive tape, then glue to the box wrap.

3. Cut, score and burnish the concertina card piece, and the 5th page piece. Now using the detailed trio punch round all of the corners of each page (don't worry about doing the smaller end section as this is covered with the 5th page piece).

Fold each section over and punch

Don't punch end section

Glue 5th page over the end section

4. Cut all of the card and dsp for the pages, round the corners again and then glue into place (I also after rounding the dsp corners placed the dsp into the different section of the punch to get the pattern effect in the corners, and for one of my sentiments I've heat embossed using white emboss powder and a heat tool onto the mossy meadow section before glueing it onto the card).

5. I've now stamped images from the 'Dragonfly garden' bundle using mossy meadow ink, onto the two sections that didn't have any card or dsp layers on them, and then I've blended the colour out using the blender pen and added bumblebee ink having put ink onto a stamping block and picking it up again using the blender pen. I've then added a little bit of wink of stella to give sparkle.

6. I've inked the daisies using the sponge daubers and a bit of mossy meadow ink and then I've curled them a bit using my bone folder, glued two together, and then glued them onto the concertina card. I've then attached one of the retired floral centres into the middle of each one.

7. I've stamped the sentiments using mossy meadow onto the pieces that I've cut out and then layered them onto the mossy meadow pieces. Adhere these into place using dimensionals (these are on the pages with bumblebee layers on as above).

8. I've now glued the concertina card onto the base of the box drawer (your choice glued or loose).

9. Tie a bow and attach to the front of the box wrap using a glue dot, glue the large dragonflies together add some wink of stella for sparkle and attach to the box wrap using wet glue.

10. I've stamped the sentiment onto the die cut shape, using mossy meadow ink and then after cutting the mossy meadow die cut in half I've glued this onto the back of the white one so that you have a bit showing from the underside, attach to the front of box wrap using dimensionals.

11. Using a glue dot I've now attached the little ladybug trinket to the front.

12. I've added 2 small punched out dragonflies within the concertina card to add a little bit more dimension.

That is the project finished, a bit long drawn but I think the end result is worth it, and I loved putting this together to share with you all. Hope you enjoyed it a much as I did.
Until next time take care and keep crafting x
