Cute Whale of a time card.
Hi everyone I just wanted to quickly show you all, the gorgeous card I've made using a really lovely suite from Stampin' Up called ' Whale of a time '.
I think this is going to be a really useful suite to have to craft for children as well as with children, as it's so adorable I think children are going to love it.
The card fold I made many years ago, but, it was complicated as the card was in one piece and it took alot of working out to get it right. But recently I've seen other people making it in alot less complicated way, so this isn't my idea for the card fold but the design on the card is my own.
Lin Gostling is one of the ladies I saw make it one a facebook live and
Karen Egan who is on Youtube as CraftyKarendesigns please go look them up.
Materials needed:
Whisper white thick card
3pc - 4 1/2" x 4 1/2" all scored corner to corner
Scrap pieces for the creature cut outs and the sentiment
Sentiment flag piece measures 2 1/2" x 3/4"
This is how your 3 pieces will look whan you've cut and scored them and you glue them together, but we're going to stamp lots of the little images from the stampset over the card pieces that will be showing, with versamark ink and then using clear/white embossing powder, your choice heat set the powder and then ink with your colour choice of ink, I've used Granny apple green and Pool party, using a blending tool. ( Ilike using the makeup blending brushes for this technique). Once you've finished inking you can then use a tissue to wipe off the excess ink on the sections you've heat embossed, as the ink resists these sections, hence why this techbique is called ' Heat emboss resist'.
This is how the card looks once you've inked it. Then it's just a case of stamping your creatures out , the whale has a punch to punch it out with, the others I've just fussy cut them out and then used stampin' dimensionals to glue them to the card. The opening of the card I've used a velcro dot to keep it closed.
I've stamped my sentiment out and cut one end to be a banner, glued it onto a slightly bigger piece of Pacific Point card and then carefully cut round it with scissors.
I've then tied a 3 layer bow ( I like to do this using my fingers, but you can achieve this using a bow maker).
Card done hope you liked it give it a go it's a really easy technique to achieve, and for those of you that know me it's not messy, as I don't do mess.
Thank for popping by and having a look take care stay safe and keep crafting.
Big crafty hugs
Natalie xx
