Starburst Prized Peony

Happy Tuesday everyone, yet another week has gone by, and what and for most of it we've had some amazing weather.  Hope everyone is doing okay and ready for a new project.
Todays project was a challenge on my Stampin' Up! group called the Starburst technique, and oh my it's a really lovely technique to use on cards.
I thought I'd use the gorgeous new Prized Peony suite from Stampin' Up! and incorporate it with the technique.
So let's get started.........

Card Materials:

Whisper white thick cardstock
1pc - 5" x 10" scored on longside @ 5"  - card base
1pc - 4 7/8" x 4 7/8" for inside of card
1pc - for large cicle die cut
1pc - for sentiment

Basic gray cardstock
1pc - 4 7/8" x 4 7/8" for front of card layer
1pc - for the scallop circle die cut
Scrap piece for leaf die cuts

Smoky slate cardstock
Scrap piece for leaf die cuts

Petal Pink cardstock
1pc - for the Peony die cuts

So saffron cardstock
Scrap piece for the Peony stamen

Prized Peony dsp
1pc - 5" x 5" for the starburst piece
1pc - 1 1/2" x 4 7/8" for base of front layer

Card recipe:

1. Score and burnish card base. Glue the whisper white piece of cardstock into the inside of your card.
2. Draw a light pencil line 1 1/2" in on one of the sides of your basic gray piece (which is now going to be the bottom of your card piece) for the front of your card. Now draw another faint pencil line in the middle of the card from the top to the pencil mark you've already made along the bottom. This is going to be where you start your starburst from.

3. Now you need to mark your dsp ready to cut as in the picture below.

4. Cut your dsp where you've marked it and then you need to flip number 1 over on both sides and swap them from side to side do the same with the number 2 pieces this will give you alternate sides of the dsp every other piece.
5. Now you can lay your centre piece of dsp into the middle of your basic gray card piece, placing the point onto the horizontal pencil line. Now put your 2 edge pieces of dsp on to the card lining the edge up with your horizontal line, put the rest of the pieces in to place leaving equal gaps. Having glued all the pieces in to place once dry you can cut off the excess pieces that hang over the edge.
6. At the base of your gray card piece you can now glue your piece of dsp that measures
1 1/2" x 4 7/8".
7. Glue this layer on to the front of your card base.
8. Glue your doily using a glue dot on the middle reverse side. Your 2 x circles can be glued together flat and then glued on to the card base with dimensionals.
9. Ink the edges of your flower pieces with petal pink ink and then glue them all together in the order that's in the picture below. You will see that at the base of each flower piece the shape matches up exactly making it very easy to assemble your flower.

10. Your leaves are assembled like in the picture below.

11. Now you can glue your leaves to the reverse of your flower and then glue it on to the front of your card base using dimensionals.
12. Stamp your sentiment on to the piece of whisper white card and then glue flat on to the front of your card, place some faceted gems on to your card and then that's the card finished.
Hope you liked the card I must say that I really enjoyed making this card, and I loved the end result.

Whale of a time - unfolding box

Hi everyone and what a glorious day we are having here in Witham Essex UK it's absolutely beautiful, bit hot but still beautiful.
Well today I thought I'd share with you all how to make this amazing folding box. It's not my idea I saw a lady called Brigette Keiling showing on a facebook group and she showed us all a short video of how it worked, not how you made it though, although I'm not sure if she might have done a Youtube video for it now, anyway after sitting and working out how I thought she'd made it (she had used the cute little Zany Zebras) I thought I'd share with you all what I came up with.

Card recipe:

Whisper white cardstock 12" x 12"

1pc - 6" x 12" scored on the 6" side @ 2" and 4"
Scored on the 12" side @ 2", 4" 8" and 10"
then you need to score @ 6" but only to the first score line and do this on both top and bottom. Now cut up all of these score lines along the longside as in picture.

 1pc - 6 1/4" x 8 1/4" score @ 2 1/16" on all four sides

Now you need to cut this as in the picture below

You can decorate your box with any dsp and coloured card just make sure you cut all of your layers smaller than the one before. When adding elements to your inside, just be aware that the sides all have to fold flat onto each other in order to close, so check before you stick.
I will leave a list of products I used so that you can pop over  to my on line shop with Stampin' Up and order products if you so wish.
Enjoy the rest of the beautiful weather whilst it lasts and I will see you all again soon.
Big crafty hugs

Posted for You

Good morning everyone, and welcome to another crafty Tuesday.
Today I wanted to show you all the lovely Posted For You bundle. Now this is a bundle that comes with a great rectangular postage stamp punch and stamp set and it's absolutely divine.
I've made a very quick and simple card, but I think it turned out really lovely, hope you all agree. So let' get making.......

Materials needed:

Just Jade cardstock
1pc - 10.5cm x A4 length scored in half longside card base
1pc - 10.1cm x 13cm for inside of card
1pc - approx 4.5cm x 7cm for punching out the stamp

Whisper white thick cardstock
1pc - 10.1cm x 14.4cm front of card layer
1pc approx 7cm x 10cm for punching 2 x stamps
1pc - 1.7cm x 5.6cm for sentiment

Flowers for every Season dsp
1pc - 9.7cm x 14cm front of card layer

Vellum cardstock
1pc - 9.7cm x 14cm front of card layer

Forever greenery trim combo
1pc approx 14cm for wrapping round dsp and vellum layer

1. Score and burnish your card base.

2. Glue your Just jade piece of card in to the inside of your card leaving an even border around the base and two sides (You will notice that it's smaller, this is because you now need to score in from the centre fold about 1.5cm. This is so you can run some glue down this section when your'e ready and glue it shut, this enables your card to stand up better without collapsing).

3.  Glue your whisper white layer on to the front of your card.

4. Punch out two stamp appertures on your vellum piece one on the bottom right and one on the top left. ( place the punch flush with the side of the vellum and push it in as far as it goes punch turn your vellum round NOT OVER and then you'll be in the opposite corner punch the second stamp apperture out).

5. In between the two stamp appertures place 2 glue dots on reverse and glue to the front of your dsp piece. In two opposite corners place a tiny piece of wet glue to adhere the vellum to the dsp further, when you've finished your card you can place some enamel dots over where the glue is to hide it (be very sparingly with the glue as it spreads).

6. Place some stampin'seal on the reverse of your dsp where you trim is going to wrap round and glue your trim round from the front side.

7. Glue your dsp/vellum piece on to the front of your card.

8. After having punched out 2 whisper white stamps, and stamping your postage mark in one corner of one of them, place mini dimensionals in all 4 corners and glue them both on to the front of your card. Glue your gold fern element in to place.

9. Punch out your Just jade stamp and then emboss it through your machine with the embossing folder. This gets glued flat on to the white stamps.

10. Stamp your sentiment on to your card piece and then glue this on to your card using mini dimensionals. Now you can add some enamel dots to cover up the glue under the vellum.

Hope you enjoyed todays project and you give it a go. Take care till next time.

Lovely labels Pick a punch

1. Score and burnish your card base. The next step you can do 2 ways  -   you can glue your layer piece of card on the front before cutting your apperture square out. Or you can cut the base first, glue the front square on, and then cut the apperture from the reverse side of apperture. You just need to make sure that the border is 1" all round for the frame that's left. I like to use a craft knife and rule for this but you can use your trimmer.
2. Ink and stamp your 2 x large triangles for the front of your card and then die cut them out. These need to be glued flush with the top layer on the front of your card, in opposite corners (be carful where you place your glue as you don't want it to show the otherside). The bottom corner can have the 2nd largest triangle in Misty moonlight glued on top (this along with the 2 x ( smaller size) for the inside of card is cut out of the piece cut from the apperture).
3. Die cut 5 x bunting triangles form our dsp, you can do this by cutting one up the right way and the next upside down the next right way up and so on ( be aware that if using writing some of them will read upside down, therefore these ones will be turned over and the other side used).
4. Having die cut all of your whisper white bunting strips and tiny triangle ( for the front), you  can glue the tiny one in place, and your bunting pieces overlapping them to the back of your white bunting strips,  this will make a piece long enough for the front of your card ( some of the white bunting strips will need to be cut off try and have it so you cut some from each end ).
5. Now run some glue along the top of the white bunting strips and glue your twine to it, then tie a bow and glueit on top in the middle. This bunting piece can now be glued to the front of your card.
6. Stamp your sentiment and then punch one end of it. This can be glued to the front of your card using stampin'dimensionals.
7. For the inside of the card  cut the triangle element, and then using a misty moonlight stampin' marker, stamp one word at a time, cleaning between each word  (this lets you have a different looking sentiment instead of a one liner sentiment), on to the whisper white piece and then glue it in to the inside of card.
8. Die cut your 2 triangles from inner apperture waste piece, ink and stamp 2 the same size on to whisper white card, and then place the die back onto the stamped image (cutting side up as it lays flatter) and draw round the inside triangle, cut out with scissors, this gives you a nice even , smaller triangle, which can be glued on top of the larger one.
9. Place some enamel dots on to the front of the card and that's your card finished.
